Default Best Price On A New 2007 Z

Aight guys, i'm gonna need some serious help here. Here's my situation. I just recently purchased a Z (1 month) from an individual. I really love the car as far as, color, price that i got it for, mileage and upgrades that came with the car. I drive alot and the car that i have now doesn't have cruise control, and I was thinking about getting me a 2007 Z which has better things in it , here's the numbers:

CURRENT Z i bought 19,400
-2005 Base 19,500 miles
-DVD/Navi/mp3/sirius LIFETIME SERVICE/Ipod Interface
-HomeLink Rear View mirror with compass/thermometer
-Clean, well maintained
-Dealership trade in offer -18000

CAR THAT I DON'T NEED ANYMORE:
-2001 honda civic EX has 57,000miles (paid off)
-KBB Value 7,700 EXCELLENT, 7,170 GOOD
-RSX Leather seats FRONTS/BACK excellent condition
-MP3/audiobahn speakers/spoiler/JL amp 1x12sub
-STS/new transmission 35kmiles/ACT stage 2clutch/ACT lightweight flywheel 9lbs?
-Rear Disc Brake Conversion/EP3 sway bar/TEIN Basic Coilovers/rear front camber kit
-DEALERSHIP OFFER 4,500 KBB 7,700 EXCELLENT, 7,170 GOOD
-PRIVATE PARTY - 9,400 (better off selling it myself )

NUMBERS:
NEW 07 Z = WAS $34,230MSRP -- DISCOUNTED PRICE $31,995
OLD 05 Z = 19,400 TRADE IN 18,000
CIVIC 01 = TRADE IN 4, 500

So with 2 cars trade in it would come up to $22,500. So pretty much i'll be financing $30,894.00(tax added 6.25%)with this i will be getting:

-306HP over a 287
-Warranty 3yrs/36,000 warranty
-cruise control (i drive alot, for me this is a must)
-powered leather seats with heater
-no scratch paint (carbon silver)
-NEW CAR SMELL

I think i'm taking it in the a$$ with the price they're giving me, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK is a good deal for a 2007 touring? I've been doing all my research online, but i thought it would be MORE accurate to ask you guys about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and please easy on me because i'm a gullible bastard when it comes to sales ok so, i guess i'll >>> already

That's a good offer on the 05 350Z. Mods take value away when you are trading in, so Civic might be better to private party sell to someone who will appreciate the changes.

The deal on the 07 is not so spectacular that I would not take my chances on missing out by private party selling the Honda. I don't know that you'll see $9400 out of it, but you should be able to pick up a couple grand.

I wrote down my final offer to 30,000 then 19,400payoff for my current Z and a 4500 for the civic, they are some serious LOW BALLERS like some of us here (i'm guilty as one )... I will give them a call in another couple of days if the salesman doesn't call me by then...

I paid 29,400 for my (used) Grand Touring that is loaded with everything minus nismo of course. It had 9k on it and while I am not crazy about the color and my wife absolutely hates the color (San Marino Blue) I felt the Rays wheels with the Gold Brembo brakes just sets it apart, for me anyways!

Point is I guess..........I searched auto trader, websites, Ebay, craigslist and countless other magazines all over the country and could not find anything new/used with this package for less than 35,500 so I felt it was a "good buy"

Of course now I am sure someone will post there purchase story with a better price and that will .......really depress me!

I check end-of-year prices at places like Car Max. They are approximately 90 percent of MSRP.

Just ask to see the factory invoice, that's what I do (that's the price the dealer owes Nissan for the car including the delivery fee, minus any rebates, etc... But the Z doesn't have any rebates offered from Nissan). Then any amount over the invoice price is their profit from the sale. I financed right at $38.5k for my touring at $500 over invoice. But I had no money down, Gold Preferred 60 month-100,000 mile extended warranty, $2600 for chrome rims, lifetime tire & rim road hazard coverage, gap insurance, taxes, and a Z hat and keychain added into the financing, lol. I think the actual price of my touring with no extras was almost right at $32,300 @ $500 over invoice. So the dealer isn't going to go much lower unless he's ripping you on your trade-in to make up for the loss in sale. At $30K they'd be losing money so they'd make it up by ripping you off on trade in.

from the looks of it yeah, i'm losing about 1400 on the current Z and about 2500 on the civic KBB appraised it at 7500... the main reason that i wanted to upgrade is the warranty, CC and leather seats but i bought a universal CC kit, i'll see if this works, i really hope so

I don't know, I've never heard of "do-it-yourself" cruise control kits before, lol. I'm not saying they don't exist or wouldn't work, but I've never seen them. I'd approach it cautiously until you know how reliable it is. It would really suck to have your car stuck accelerating, lol. That does suck that a base model Z doesn't even have cruise control....$28k for a car and no cruise control, that's lame. Even a Neon has that!

If you really want to know how good your price is, see if they offer the same sale price with NO trade in. If the price goes up they were ripping you on trade in to make up for loss in sales on the car. With used cars you never know what kind of deal you can get because it all depends on how bad they screwed the person who traded it to them. But new cars are fixed price from the factory.

Car salesmen are taught to never give a customer an even number that looks like it could be made up. Dave, did you used to be a car salesman?

i used to sell cars for Nissan (just recently quit for new job). i sold a 2007 Z roadster for way way under MSRP right before i left. i mean i gave this woman a ridiculous deal on this car only b/c we're way into 2008 & if a dealership actually still has a new 2007 model they desperately need to get rid of it. You should easily get this car under invoice. Ask the salesman to see a print out of the invoice price & negotiate from there.. There should also be a hefty rebate from Nissan on the 07 Z's (i can't remember specifically) so make sure that after you get them below invoice to subtract the rebate from that!! if you give me some specific #'s (ie MSRP, invoice, rebate, trade value) i can probably tell you if it's legit. hope this helps.
