Hey all I'm new to the forums but thought it would be the best place join before the purchase.

I'm currently looking for a used Z for my girlfriend. Rnaging from around 17K and below.

I don't know much about the Z as I have been in an S2K most of my time driving(started in a 86 corolla, 04 s2k, 07 yaris hatch, 92 civic hatch, then now back in an 07 s2k).

Is there any common issues that accure with Z's over time? Any areas of the car that I should look into with full detail?

I'm having a fellow mechanic come with me while searching for different ones. Clean car, engine/tranny feel. tire wear, fluids, areas we;ll be looking into. However I'm curious if there is anything else I should check into.

I should mention she will be getting an auto.

Good idea on taking your mechanic friend

 

I'm across the country but I have one for sale for 14k. 03 Touring Auto, need to get rid of it so I can put the downpayment on another car.

Clean title, runs great, strong. All maintenance is up to date, no issues. Brakes/Belts all just replaced.

Make sure the valves arnt making noise and motor isnt leaking oil.
