Question Need Advice on 2 350z's

Hey Guys,

I am looking to purchase my 350z in the next few weeks and I have narrowed it down to two choices. My price limit is around $23,000. However these two cars seemed to be in the best condition out of the other ones I have seen. I looked at an 04 Touring 350z that was fully loaded and wow did the owner beat the hell out of it. There was scratches everywhere and dings as well.

Car #1 ($23,788)- Daytona Blue Track 03 - 27,800 miles

I am in love with this car. I think it is great and perfect for me, because of the low miles while being an 03. But I was wondering if I should stay away from this because it's an 03, becasue I have heard they had many problems (tranny and tire feathering mainly).

Car #2 ($23,595) Black 350z 06 - Enthusiast (which they say is Touring?) - 18,000 miles

This car is 3 years newer and it looks to be in better condition than the other one. I really love both blue and black in the 350z and I am having trouble deciding which one, from an economic stand point would be better to buy.

Another very important question is, are these cars to high priced, because I Kelly Blue booked the track and it says it should be about 22,500. Should I be worried about having an 03? And also the pros and cons of having an 06 rather than an 03.

Thanks alot.

Get the '06. Or, for only a few grand more, get yourself a new '08.

You can also find the cars for cheaper than that... I've seen good condition '03/'04 Tracks going for $18-20k out here.

i would go with the 06 because its obviously newer and still has a warranty on it...although be careful because the 06's have the oil consumption problem....the 03 should be 18-19000K at most ....the prices are obviously a little higher because the dealers want to make a profit and they know that your goining to argue down the price so they cant start low

Just so you know, the 06 is not a touring. Only touring wheels i believe.

That 06 is a base model it looks like, not enthusiast or touring.

Yea I would love to get an 08, however my price limit was decided and it stands firm. I have looked for 07's and it is very hard to find them for under 24K considering I have only saw two which were 200 plus miles away. What are the pros and cons of getting the 06 vs previous years?

This is easy: 06....three years newer; many 03s had first year issues.

Either way, pay a mechanic to check it out for you.

x2 .... 03 model is too old and seems overpriced.. 06 model may have "excessive oil consumption" ... be careful buying a 06... 08 base seems like a best bang for you buck...it's got full warranty from Nissan and you get a 0 mile HR engine that YOU break it in properly.... just my .02... I am gonna try to pay off my car by the end of this year .... hopefully next year, I'll be driving a HR
