Default Decisions on buying a 350z

I was wondering if i should get the 2008 Pikes Peak White or a 2006-07 Daytona Blue. My question is.. whats the major difference between the 06-07 and 08. Also when i was looking online at the nissan dealership it says the 08 enthusiast does not come with the bose system. Can i install an aftermarket headunit on the 08 entusiast or is it better off getting an 06 or an 07 that i can install an aftermarket headunit with the bose system so i dont have to change the speakers or anything.

So
Which is the better year, and which one can i get and install my ida-x001 without changing out speakers or anything else.?

I know in my G35, the Bose sucks... I blew most of hte OEM Bose speakers within 3 months. I now have Infinity Kappa's. I would not base your decision on the BOSE. If the 08 deosnt have it then it would be much much easier to put a good aftermarket unit in it...

i mean the thing is i already spend like 500 on all my stuff for my eclipse(yea i have one) and i dont want to take the speakers out because the stock ones are blown and so i have to leave the speakers in the eclipse when i trade it in, so i mean will and aftermarket headunit work with an 08 enthusiast? or do i HAVE to get the touring to make it work?

you can put an aftermarket headunit in ANY car you purchase. Doesn't matter how much or what brand.

Wow, this guy has to show up in almost every thread in which someone is trying to make a buy decision or price question/information, but does not give much of any useful information other than stating obvious..... Not only that, if someone seems to be deciding not to buy, he would stomp that person....

Anyway, carlili4190, to your question, there is a big different between the model years '06 and before and model years '07&'08. There is no difference between '07 and '08, so you should determine based on your preference of the color, prices, options, etc. The big change Nissan made for '07 is the engine. Not only the engine is more powerful and almost a new engine, that has eliminated the oil consumption issue that was prevalant with the high-rev version of DE engine that was with the '05 and '06.

If the car you buy has the bose system you will have to replace the speakers with a new head unit. My understanding is the OEM system you could replace the head unit without replacing the speakers

The 07 and 08 and pretty much the same. The 06 has a different engine and no hood hump

07 (or 08), without a doubt. 80% of the engine components were updated when they went from VQ35DE to VQ35HR, virtually a new engine.

get an 07 or 08, it has the best engine. 07 and 08 are pretty much the same, so you should go for 07 and save yourself a few thousand. At this time there are no major issues with the 07. I have heard of a few people having sticking clutches, but that is it. 06 has oil consumption issues on some cars. The bose system is garbage. You will want to replace the head unit and speakers for sure. Honestly, the factory stereo systems in your car should be the least of your concerns.

My personal choice would be Daytona Blue, but I am sure you have your own preference. I do not know why they dropped Daytona Blue and brought in the SMB. Even more puzzling, they made a red an optional color for $500 more.... I still do not own a Z, but hoping to get an '08 in a few months and I have an advice about the transmission. If you do not know how to drive MT at this time, you may be better off settling for an AT. I have test driven a Z and the MT needed some getting-used-to even for me although I have driven manual cars for quite a bit.

What the heck i mean im asking about cars so i have some more questions. Whats the best sounding/best exhaust/most HP gain ? Also same thing for an Intake. I have an Injen intake and GReddy exhaust on my eclipse now... whats the best for the z? I was thinking a Nismo Exhaust and an Injen intake. is that a good idea?
