Default $20K to work with

Spring is approaching and I am desperately scattering for the right choice, I have $25K to worth with however that includes importing costs (duty, taxes etc.) which leaves me with about $20K.

Considering some of the deals I’ve been seeing, 20K isn’t the worst value to work with.

In the attached file I have two possibilities, a silver 06 enthus (I believe) vs a black 05 (enthus)

Things to consider:

- obviously the 06 would be a better choice, however I strongly have to consider the oil consumption
- the mileage is pretty damn good on both cars
- Black is my first choice of color which the 05 offers
- obviously both are stick
- I do not want a Base model so enthus. at least which both models are
- the black 05 has leather seats, however I will be getting custom red leather covers so the seats don’t matter.
- I love the 06 rims, which I will eventually get if I were to get on 05 model

looking for suggestions and opinions

Nice, I'll be importing too.

Other than:
-The 6% tax (to CBSA)
-$100 Excise tax for Air conditioning (to CBSA)
-And the RIV fee of $222.21 (for Quebec)

I can't think fo anything else I have to pay for...

Wait until the end of summer 2008 because dealers will be trying to clear out 2008 models which should depress prices of any earlier models. By September or October 2008, a 2007 should be EASILY doable for 20k if not less. It would be a 3 year old car at that point (2007, 2008, and 2009).

^Seriously, any kind of convertible or sports car is always a much better deal to the customer if not bought in the spring or summer months.

You should buy a fully built 4.2L long block capable of 1000whp and a gretty TT kit.

Buy the z later when you have the extra money.

The CBSA says you pay the 6% GST to them, unless this is just a Quebec thing

Might want to double check www.csba.gc.ca

doesn't hurt to factor in more than you actually have to pay, but I think its just GST you need to pay at the border

yes GST is @ the border along with 6% border fee $200 for RIV, $100 for having AC, and PST you pay when you go get your sticker. Add another ~100 for DTRL install, 30 for emission test.. and some more minor costs

6.1% GSt
5% Border Fee
$222 for RIV
$100 Excise Fee

NP dude.. good luck with yours.. Also I think the GST @ the border is based on black book value not the sales invoice that you get.. which sucks..

On no, on the book value, that sucks huge...well there goes my idea of having the seller mark the price down by a Few G's at the DMV and giving them cash haha
