Default 06 350Z Enth Coupe w/31K miles for $23,5? Or '03 S2K w/20K miles for $20K?

For those of you don't know my basic mission is to get out of my AT5 ZR and into a 6speed manual ZR, but can't find one... so i'm thinking of going to the hard top. I found a white 06 350Z Enthusiast Coupe w/31K miles on it... Asking $25,9. I spent about an hour working with them and talked them down to $23,5 but I still don't think its enough. They only want to give me $15K for my 04 ZR w/50K miles and they will probably turn around and ask about $23K for it i'm sure...

I know the 06 is a bad year, and I don't know if the engine has been replaced due to oil consumption or not, but I should know tomorrow. From what I understand it should have its 60,000 mile / 5 year powertrain warranty so if it does have oil consumption issues I could theoretically have it replaced. Perhaps I should get that in writing from them....

Anyway I think $23,5 is still too much considering the interior isn't in great condition... its okay but not great, my 04 is better... Plus it does have a cold air intake and there appears to be a plenum spacer on it so I'd say this car has been driven hard. I said I thought it was worth about $20,5 or $21K but not more. The sales manager wouldn't budge but it was the end of the night...

If I can talk them down a little more think I should do this? Or forget it? I'm also looking at a 2003 Honda S2000 which has 20K miles on it at which looks pretty good but I just don't like the lack of low revs torque, and I don't really like the sound of the engine at the higher revs. But its cheap, reliable, 6 speed, and a convertible all of which I want.

So, thoughts?

Thanks for the reply but not completely helpful... I wouldn't be at this point if there were more options but 350Zs are difficult to come by in my area. I figure if I can talk them down to my price point then its worth it, otherwise forget it and i'll find something else.

Yah, you're driving a Z right now, just wait it out until the perfect 6MT Roadster comes along your way. Do this only if you really like the Z and not really feeling the S2K. I wouldn't opt out for an S2K just because. I would only choose it if I know that it will be a purchase that I will not regret.

I drove S2000 and the Z ... I would def have to say S2000 is a very good handling car.. it's gearbox was touched by god if I recall correctly but there's no tq...it's true when you're in vtec, it just SCREAMS but then your fuel gauge goes down accordingly ...

NOw, Z is a beast... you got tq in all the gears and the tuned exhaust sounds awesome in almost all RPM ..... I would be careful getting a 06 because of the oil consumption but there are thousands of 06 Zs with 0 oil consumption problems ....

I think you can def. should lower that price to lesser than $23.5K ....few points would be a. it's 2 years old b. many 07 enthusiests or even touring with same miles going for that price. c. you can always use oil consumption excuse and bring the price down a little

Well, good luck with your Z hunt ......

Get the 06 Z coupe. More power...better looking.

I don't have any engine/trans/oil burning issues. Car still feels like brand new. I got 21k on her.
