Default '04 350z touring pricing question

Hi,
I'm new to the forum because I've been looking at a few Z's lately. There's one in particular I'm drawn to. Its an '04 with almost 50000 miles. The only problem is they're asking $19,450 for it, which is about the top of my price range. It has aftermarket rims, but it's still over the blue book price. I was wondering what others have paid and what a fair price would be for the car. Planning on going to see it this weekend.

Thanks

Not sure how you came to the conclusion that $19,450 is excessive for retail.

That's not really THAT high but yes it's higher than some of the deals you may see. There was an 04 Black Touring MT about 120 miles away from me with 37k miles for 17k asking price. The car was supposedly clean too. I would have offered them 16400 for it just becuase of the way it's priced. Always make an offer lower than what the asking price is even if it seems ridiculously low. When i bought my eclipse a year ago the KBB was 8800 and the car's asking price was 7995. I was scared to ask them to go any lower but my aunt did and I ended up getting it for 7700. It wasn't much lower but that covered all the dealer fee's in the end so moral of the story is...even if it seems ridiculously low at least ask for a few hundred lower and you just may get it if they want it gone that bad.

Back to the OP I would first show them the KBB of how low it is and if you can get them down to the KBB offer them even lower if you basically say "where do i sign and who do i make the check out to?"

That is actually not too bad. I'd offer 17.

19K for 04 with 50,000miles seems a bit high (unless if it comes with a great warranty). although they might retail it at that price, id offer something significantly lower, maybe $15K and start from there. 19" rims shouldn't make a difference, i'm sure they don't pay extra for it at the time they bought it.
