Default 2006 Trade in Value?

Hey guys, I am thinking about trading in my 2006 Enthusiast with 21K miles... I am curious what people have been getting for trade-ins recently? I won't be able to go to the lots and have them give me an estimate for a couple more weeks.

Any one?

Any idea?

KBB has it listed around 18-19K. I want to know if this is accurate in the real world...

Omaha... I have found that geographic disposition is a huge
factor here - so let's est that as a caveat. In order to maximize
your tiv, sell privately. Is there a gap on your note? if not, you
could move with ebay. The dealership will ding you for at lease
10-20 points.

I think an adept dealer would prob push for $15-15.5k

I owe about 12K on the car, so I have some equity in it.

I might try listing the car locally, but don't really have time to try to sell it privately. I may try to put it on craigslist locally.

I was afraid I would only get 16K or so, but am still hoping for atleast 17K +.

Are my expectations to high for hoping for 17K? I realize the only way to tell is to take it in, but again, wont be able to do that for a week or two.

Thanks

Take it to CarMax for an appraisal. In my experience, they will normally give you the best offer. Then use that offer to get the max value from whatever dealer you trade with, Or just sell it to Car Max.

my '06 enthus. with 14k miles sold for 17.5k @ carmax in orlando. i had the varis intake duct on my car so they deducted some money because of it. we got trade-in offers anywhere from 15k-17k.

Check CarMax prices. Subtract $2,000.

CarMax has given me lower numbers on the last 3 cars I had than other dealers. They aren't all that anymore.

the longer you wait the harder it's going to be - expect around 15k.
