Back in August of last year the local dealer tried to put a $5000 market adjustment on the Z. After a few months they dropped it because they weren't selling. Hmmmm?

If it was a coupe, it sounds like the dealer greedy and possibly stupid too...

it's so cute how optomistic dealers are. They're like little kids who wants all the candy in the store!
Unless you're trying to buy from them, then they're just pain in the a$$ b*tches

The dealers here in CT (the ones I have talked to) are discounting the coupe to below MSRP. They are not WAY below MSRP, but they are not adding markups.
The roadster is a different story (for now) and my dealer is selling me mine for MSRP, no discount.

Damn, I have a lot of friends in LA too.
Well wait how much does it cost to ship a car in an 18 wheeler cross country? Is that a stupid question? The two dealers I have talked to in this area are looking at 1500 and 2000 respectively OVER MSRP for a loaded Touring (or any other model I would guess), but I guess that could be for any car.
I mean thats a $3500 swing, or am I thinking about this all wrong?
If it meant saving some good money I certainly wouldnt be against hoping on Jet Blue for a weekend in LA.

I checked out the 350 last year....and just walked away when they tried to add their bu11sh1t markup.... I kept the 300 another 10 months and bought my 350 at 1500 UNDER back in June.
Have I told you how much I hate car salespeople??

Another thread recommended carsdirect.com and they are showing a saving over List of about $1,000, interestingly larger percentage for the Track. No mention of Roadster, too new?.
The Question would be delivery times, I guess that if you want to get one quickly you will be at or over List.
I had the same issue when I bought my current car, had to pay list and wait 5 months, now you can get 10% off a lower List price on immediate delivery, secondhand values have been knocked accordingly. I expect the same will apply to the Z.
I am going back to UK for a couple of months so will not need a car until November/December, depends on how long Uncle Sam takes to process my Visa.
Looks like I would need to order at the end of September, anybody know curent order times?. I am going to AutoShow in Motion in Denverr in a couple of weeks so should get a test drive in.
I would have brought my MG over but it was never type approved for the US, so I would be limited to 12 months use before exporting.
I also now understand why it is nice to have air con in a Roadster, never seemed logical before.
PS If you want to read some really sad stories look on the UK Forum, Z costs a lot more, and gas cost $4+ a US gallon. (Rip Off Britain)
