Default Do you think this is a good deal? Picking up thursday

I'm going Thursday to pick up my 350z from a place in North carolina.

2003 Daytona Blue Enthusiast
47k miles
Excellent Condition
Transmission replaced 1.5 years ago under warranty
14,300 OTD

The book value for this car was listed at 13,400 for excellent condition. But of coarse that was private party and I'm getting it for 14,300 OTD so the extra 300 bucks in dealer fees is already in there.

Honestly, it's exactly everything I really want.
  • Daytona Blue- my absolute favorite color on a Z hands down
  • Excellent overall condition
  • 47,000 miles - around what I was looking to get one with becuase most problems would have been replaced under warranty by then but it's still not that high.
  • Transmission has been replaced with a newer one instead of the glass ones in 03's and 04's.
  • Enthusiast - lightest of the bunch and I don't care for leather or Bose honestly.

Am I paying too much? I kind of think I am but at the same time, that's OTD price on a car that is EXACTLY what i am looking for. Daytona Blue are hard Z's to find at steal of prices. Are they the pretty much most looked for color of these years? They seem like it. That and redline

I have not found any other 03 or 04 DB Z's from a dealer with miles that low that are in excellent condition within 500 miles of me. Let alone one with an 06+ Tranny in it. Still edmunds and KBB think I'm paying too much haha

seems like a good buy to me. you can nitpick all you want, there will always be better deals out there but that one isn't a rip off, for an OTD from a dealership that is. its a great car for the cost.

You should definitely buy if it is exactly what you want. I had the same problem when looking for a 350z.
I went to look at 3 or 4, in my favorite colors; Pearl White, Daytona Blue.
All others I looked at were beat up and abused, and I found my Pearl in perfect condition and jumped on it.
So, you should definitely get it. It sounds like a good price to me, because it's not too terribly high, and it is exactly what I want.

I picked it up and drove it home yesterday! The car is in immaculate condition for its mileage. 45.2k when i left the dealership and there was hardly one scratch anywhere on the paint or in the interior. Just a few specs on the front bumper to be expected with any car with that mileage. I found a receipt from a Nissan dealership that said the transmission was replaced under warranty in October of 2007. The previous owner had already put a popcharger inside of it hah.

I now have 1,800 on my credit card to pay off plus sales tax but i am extremely happy with my purchase.

Seems a tad high. A search on autotrader turned up 13 '03 Zs listed for under $13k with less than 60k miles. The market is really bad for sports cars.

Yea but a lot of those are private party and im sure at least half were beat on. Plus I really wanted Datytona Blue which is a hard color to find at a good price. Plus you have to remember I am in a different region than you so that may change things

In the end this car really is "Excellent" KBB condition. It is 100% brand new basically even at 45k miles. I may have paid a little too much but really I am very very satisfied with my purchase, remember it does have an 07 transmission in it as well.

You didn't over pay, because you got what you wanted in excellent condition.
Most of the 13k cars I looked at were in horrible, beat on condition like you said.
So I opted to add some money and get a super clean car. Welcome to the community! And I love the Daytona Blue! We need some pics!

Once I get a nice day and some time I'm buffing out the entire car to get all the surface scratches from foam brushes out and doing a FULL detail. I bought a dual-action porter cable and sure it's in great condition but man is it going to shine after I'm done. I will post pics then!
