2004 Base 350Z - Original owner, everything stock (17" wheels)
Bought new to me wheels: Rays Gram Lights 57CR Club Sport Nismo
18x10.5+22 Set of four
Newb to this topic but need to buy new tires for these wheels. I want to keep everything stock, no camber adjustments, no rolled fenders, no adjustments on height. This is a daily ride that I don't drive a lot, not tracking or anything like that. I want to get tires that fill up the space as much as possible without any rubbing, front and back, flush to fenders look, no poke.
Looking on Tire Rack site, they suggest:
Front: 225/45/18
Rear: 245/45/18
Appreciate any feedback on these tires or other sizes that I could buy that won't rub, flush to fenders, on stock setup.
Tire Rack doesn't do oversize that well - listing only OE sizing unless you choose wheels (and even then, they kinda suck in that regard).
You can conceivably go square 275s but with the 10.5s, there's an even chance of a bit of full lock rubbing as well as on the fender liner screw (remove it if it hits).
Personally not a fan of square setups due to the effect on MY personal dial-in preferences and the need for stagger on TCS/VDC cars. But on your Base, probably OK.
Understood on square setup considerations. In my case, daily with limited driving, it's an '04 with 57k miles, would sizes travlee posted be a safe option, front: 255/40/18 and rear: 275/40/18? Being new to this, I don't want to buy tires, get them mounted, then find that I've got rubbing issues and have to do some type of mod or get different tires.
Okay so I've bought the wheels, they are what they are, 18X10.5+22. Would I still be good with 255/40 on front, 275/40 on rears? Goal being to have a nice tight look with no rubbing.

Honestly, you can go either way (245 or 255F, 275R) if the car is staying stock height. I can't think of any in those sizes with those offsets on any of my 33 that ever rubbed, even lowered conservatively. You'll be fine... time tested setup.
you don't have to go with 40% sidewalls. you could do 35s. I put 35s on all of my cars now just to make room for suspension changes, etc. I would definitely not do 40s with 275s.

no need to go 35s. As OP stated he does not want to drop/change suspension geometry/roll/pull... so no need to go 35s.
Im running 255/40/18 F 9.5 and 275/40/18 R 10.5. Obviously im dropped and running aggressive offsets +8. I like meat on my tires.
And this is what she looks like with new wheels/tires. There's a little more poke on fronts than I expected. Probably be good with 9.5 on fronts but I'm good with the look overall. Definitely have room to drop it but trying to avoid starting down that road. Thanks again for the feedback.
