Default can you edit your finance charge by changing warranty?

when i got the Z a few years back, i opted for a "custom" extended warranty; where you can select "free" (non-synt) oil changes, tire replacement, etc... for a certain amount added to your monthly finance charge. since then, its certain things on the warranty that i dont need (have aftermarket rims/tires, use synthetic oil, etc) my question is: can you go back and change what is on your EXTENDED warranty (remove not add to) and have your monthly finance charge re-calculated?

same question with say you void your extended warranty with FI. would you still have to pay each month for the warranty? or would it also be re-calculated?

The bank probably doesn't care too much what warranty was purchased. They financed the purchase price of the car plus whatever other goodies you added. Since you gave that check to the dealer, that's what you owe the bank. And the dealer isn't going to cut you a break because you used less of their services.

(I guess this is only applicable if you got financing on your own, though, I'm sure the dealer still isn't going to care if you stopped using the stuff you bought from them, even if you used one of their financing arms.)

the finance charge is based on the APR% you financed the car at, not what options you got with the total price. and i agree, since you paid for it anyway and that, the dealer will not care if yo use the services or not, you still contracted to do it. the only people that can answer your question is the place you bought the car from.

Once you sign the papers, that deal is done. The only way you can alter payments, finance charge, interest, etc. is to refinance (get a new loan).

No. In fact financing a warranty, say $1,000, can easily cost $1,250 over the life of the loan.

talk to the dealership, you might be able to altar or drop the warranty or portions of it. chances are they will give you a refund for the unused portion and you will not be able to altar your monthly note.
