here is a photo of a dealer in Calif posted on another forum. Hope everyone isn't experiencing this. We had the same problem with the S2000 but we posted honest dealers on the s2000 fan site (s2ki.com) and alot of buyers avoided the crooks. If you got yours for MSRP or better, post that dealers name on this web site so others can get the same benefit. If they are price gauging, post that as well and don't buy it there.
Went to three dealers this past Saturday in the Bay Area. Boardwalk Nissan wanted $2000 above MSRP at first, but then called me back and gave it to me at MSRP, for a November delivery, which I took. Daland Nissan wanted $5k-$10k above, and didn't even want to deal for anything less, even after wahtI told them Boardwalk would do. Serramonte wanted the same, but after I told them what Boardwalk was willing to do, they said they would do the same. I tried to get $800 less than MSRP from them, but they said no, so I left. So I got it for MSRP on the 23rd of August for a November delivery at Boardwalk.

What's the deal Nor-Cal people, is this typical of your dealers too?
Here's a story that might shed some light.
Back in January when i was trying to order a Z, I went to the delaers here in the San Jose area, all were quoting me prices from 3000 to 10000 over MSRP.
I laughed at all of them. Then ordered my car out of SLO.
There ya have it!!

Look what it says above the list of prices on the right side. At the top, "sports car that F&*Cks wih the rebelous spirit?"

Stopped by Stevens Creek Nissan in Santa Clara to see the chrome silver/frost touring model listed on their inventory. I had not seen the frost interior before. There were about 6 people nosing around the car, climbing inside, hood and hatch back up, reving it a bit. Turns out the pre order backed out so it's for sale with a $10K mark up. The salesman said his dealership was giving all pre orders a leatherjacket and special dealer license plate holder when they picked up their cars. "We want everyone to be happy with us. Shooting for high survey numbers."
I was going to suggest that dropping the price on the car would certainly make at least one buyer happy, but figured that would just confuse him.
By the way, the Frost interior looks good with the chrome silver, but will be fantastic with the Brickyard. Boomer, we chose a classy looking combination.

That pic is from San Rafael Nissan in San Rafael, CA (Marin County, SF Bay Area). Saw it in person 2 days ago. They seem to be not the best type of dealer, should be running a small used car lot, not a major dealership, if you know what I mean.
However, North Bay Nissan in Petaluma (20 m north of San Rafael) has been MSRP from the start of the preorder program, owner says they will also sell all "freed" preorders--those not taken by original ordering customer--to other customers for MSRP, and will continue to sell all Zs at MSRP, in the future, regardless of "market adjustment" trends.
Good folks, honest dealership, owner is a enthusiast, has treated me respectfully and very well since the start. Knowledgeable, cooperative, informative. Excellent, experienced Z-specialist service dept., too. Highly recommended.
Picked up my chrome touring 6MT w/navi today, after watching it come off the transport. 5 days early!
Talk to the owner, Greg Dexter, or the Internet Marketing Director, Mitchell Press. Both really into the Z; Mitchell was even pretty good at programming the Navi!
Tell em' Les sent ya.

Can we get a list of dealers charging over MSRP over here? Next time any of us talk to a dealer charging way over MSRP, we can refer them to this list that is being compiled online. Perhaps that will discourage them a bit.
Speaking of which, avoid kerry Nissan in kentucky. They ordered Zs under fake names and are currently charging *atleast* $7500 over MSRP. Guy I talked to yesterday said "We have to" Why?!?! Because you just have to live up to your slimy reputation??

I would recommend against this theoretical thread being open to the general population for posting, as it could quickly lose it's relevance if it becomes a dumping ground. To that end, it would be better if people would funnel reviews through the mods for editing and eventual posting. (Keep the thread "closed", but have mods post the letters from the members.)
If, however, it were to be a clear, concise list of good/bad/so-so dealers, it may force these dealers to take notice of what people are saying (and it may be a convenient way for Nissan to gauge how their dealers are perceived.)
I have had a very positive experience with my dealer, and would welcome the opportunity to give the dealership a five-star review for everyone to read.
