Does anyone think $18,000 is an outrageous price for this car!? It's been for sale for about 2 weeks only, but still, only got one serious call about buying, and only a couple about trading (R33 Skyline, 300C modded)...but thats about it. Its for sale here, NASIOC, SRTForums, local Z forums and locally parked off a busy street.

I'm confused and I want it gone, so I can move on to bigger and better things

Any input/ideas?

1) Two weeks - you're being impatient. I've seen guys selling modded Z's here and had them listed for months.

2) Surely you're aware of how difficult it is to sell a modded car. Peoples taste varies and it's going to be hard to find somebody who shares yours enough to spend a premium on the car.

Yeah I know I'm being impatient, but at least thought I'd have some interest in it, even if they were low ballers or something haha.

True modded cars are harder to sell, I just figured with all the stuff done to it, and only a couple grand more than a stock one would be itd be gone right away :-(

1) price too high, way above KBB!
2) modded cars always sell for much lower price

your best bet is making it stock and trying to get $12k for it(stock) and 3-4k for your mods

 

the stock wheels on the rear are horrid.... offset looks worst then stock, even if its stock...

 

quiksilver38 is right. I got a silver '03 touring 350Z completely stock for $12,500 though it had 50k miles. That was from a Nissan dealer, with a 3 month warranty, new tires, and extremely clean body.

1) Prices at the dealers are way down now.
2) You cannot expect an additional $4k for your mods vs a stock option.
3) Most people who would buy a modded Z are already Z owners, looking for a newer one.
4) Your car looks ricey.

If I were you, I'd put the OEM coils, wheels, control arms, hood and spoiler on and leave all the engine mods. Clean them up and sell them separately and remove the stickers and you'll find people will actually call you about your "clean" car.

 

Forced-induction, carbon fiber hood, big bird wing. A seller must have the same tastes as you. Be patient. Someone will make an offer.

 

There may be a error in your pricing rational. Potential buyers look at forced-induction as a deficiency not an asset.

I look at your car and say no way would I even consider based entirely on the painted stock wheels, let alone the stickers, wing and hood. Looks like a younger owner.... less responsible driver. If I were a serious buyer, you would have to discount your pricing quite a bit to overcome the cosmetics

 

Why are those rear wheels more horrid than usual?

well there was this member here c3rolling, tried trading it in at the dealership and i believe the dealership offered him $13k for an 06' which was turbo'd and had many mods. i guess someone took it off his hands and currently trying to sell it on craigslist for a couple months now.

i bet if you returned it to a stock sleeper and lowered the price to like $13-15k there would be more interest

 

I think if you got some 25mm spacers front and rear it would extremly help your sale....

 

Rear wheels look more horrible then normal is probably because he lowered it a lot.

 

Remove every sticker and i bet you'll get more responses.

 

Some of the responses are harsh, but true. Modded cars are harder to sell. Reconsider the price. Keep advertising. Two weeks is nothing. I have had two cars for sale for 5 months now, nothin but young kids with no money. Economy sucks too, everyone wants stuff for nothing. Be prepared to take a loss, or keep sittin on it. Sorry Man. Lose the stickers and it looks alright.

 

Car is worth $12k as is in today's marketplace. Maybe $13k...

Everyone is right about a part-out. Generate some temp-cash and
market the balance of the stock vehicle at $10.75k - $11.5k and
move on. TIME=MONEY.

 

I think the car is nice, but modded cars do take longer to sell. Consider parting out and trying to sell stock? You'd probably get more money out of it that way.

You've also gotta consider the current economy and condition of the auto sector, along with the release of the 370z, 350z values have declined recently.

 

 

Nice Z, although I'm assuming you HAD wheels on it since those do look bad given the drop. I like the stealth gauge placement - kudos to that. A few things to consider:

Boosted for 400 miles would make me wonder what is/went wrong. No more than 1 tank of gas ago you put ~$5k into the car, and now you want out. . . odd.

BTW, quoting tenths, let alone hundredths, of a pound per square inch will annoy anyone with a mathematics background.

I'd suggest parting it out also, or cleaning it up (wheel spacers, sticker removal). To save some bucks from uninstalling the entire FI system, maybe just bring the suspension back to normal so it looks more typical, and putting the stock seats back in if you have them.
