Default Your advice on 350Z purchase.

Hi,

New to the forum and would really appreciate all the advice I can get on a 350Z purchase.

I currently own an Altima and was considering trading it in for a 350Z.

Details on the Z I am interested in,

Year: 2006
Model: Roadster
Trim: Enthusiast
Miles: 22,612
Transmission: Automatic
Nissan Certified Pre-owned.
Asking price: 19,995$
KBB: 21,314$

The dealer is currently unwilling to budge from 19,995, I am considering 19,000 to be a good deal. Your thoughts on this ?

In addition should I be concerned about any additional items,
1) Recalls? I checked the net and could not find any.
2) Since this is an automatic, I believe this is not the Rev-up model. Please correct me if I am wrong?
3) What are you experiences with the soft-top? If it develops a tear, how have you dealt with it? What deal should I work with the dealership that will help me fix tears in the soft-top at the dealership.

The Z will be my main mode of transport (Can't afford two cars ). Would also appreciate input/advice from those who use a Z as the primary mode of transport.

Thanks.

The automatics are the 287 horsepower motors. Only the manuals got the rev up engine.

Go to dealer with 19,000 cash. I have a feeling they will budge if it means the sale

1. Your insurance is going to go up.

2. You get a soft top, start savings account to replace soft top.

3. Get a cover if you do not have a garage.
(WeatherShield is good and custom made)

4. Roadsters are louder in the cabin than coupes.

5. Remember, it only takes a pocket knife to enter car.

6. Your buying a 4 year old base model car in the middle of winter,
20K seems high. I don't know where you are in the world, but
you might consider -- looking around more. I personally would
not pay more than 16 (maybe 17) for it in super show room
excellent shape.

ie. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ctd/1534540448.html

You can get any car shipped to you for a grand.

7. If you do buy it, treat it well and she will treat you very well.
I have had a 280, two 300's and a 350. They are VERY good
and reliable cars. I don't rag my cars and each of the previous
Z's went 250K plus without any problems.

8. I have a Mercedes SL, I will sell you. (F-ing P.O.S.)

Did you offer $19? Did the seller accept?

See that is a sticking point about buying a car. You have to offer money. Sellers, in my opinion, like money
