350Z value on the rise?
Hello everyone, I just sold my scion tc that I hated for the last 4 years and I am finally ready to buy a 06 350Z
It's just that when I use to research 350z's couple of years ago in hopes of buying one someday, it used to be much cheaper (I am guessing this is when the 370's came out, which devalued the 350z's)
But now, a typical 06 with 20-90K miles are in the $15K-$20K range which is too high in my opinion
Is it just the summer season (lots of cars being sold due for graduation gifts, etc), or my location (SoCal)?
I actually found one decent deal on a 06 with 37K miles on it for $14,000. It's a base model with leather seats (factory option) daytona blue (I want a black one, but they are so hard to find right now) but I am going to offer 13K. If he accepts, is this a fair price or I should wait and look for a better deal?
I appreciate your inputs.

the z is much more desired in warmer seasons. being in cali, that isn't much of a factor, though.
I think you should look around for comparables, and be prepared to pay whatever you feel is fair if you want that car. anyone could chime in and say they are less in different areas.. but that does not help you.

We need to stop making fun of the kids wrecking them, then. We need to start treating all the youngsters nicely.
And buying them alcohol before they drive home . . .

Welcome, only recommendation I can give you is do "lots" of research before you buy. I'm sure you will find a good deal in the 30-40 deals you researched. Also, since you are buying used, make sure you check with a mechanic before you put down the money, Zs are likely abused...
All I can say, buy careful and drive happy
Oh, and lastly, never forget the fact that you get what you pay for

thanks for the response guys.
Yes it is a private seller and I guess he just lied to me about the seating option. I didn't know the leather seats were optional in the BASE model.
Now I feel a bit sketch.

I believe the lowest trim offering to get leather as an option was Enthusiast.
On the other hand, there were SOME dealers who did do leather installs as a dealer package. It was rare, but it did exist.
