My purchase agreement says $44,900 +$900 for freight for a performance model and I had all the PDI charges waived.

dougz: "My Black track model with everthing but nav" are there any options on the track model" i thought everything came with it but some minor (under $100 each) options. what's list on the track package?

bobbyz: i'm also interested in finding out what dealer you bought from.

whats the big deal. I paid MSRP.
44,900 for touring and performance and 46,500 for a track.
Only option in Canada is NAVI for 3,400 which I did not get.

bobbyz, can you tell me more about waiving your PDI charges? I'd like to try that with my dealer.

dougz, if you're paying just under $51K without NAVI option, the dealer probably is padding their profit. You should be looking at $47,500 for a Track w/o NAVI @ msrp (that includes freight and PDI).

No reason to pay above msrp from what I understand.

You will most likely not be able to get the PDI charges waived. If you own a dealership or used car lot, they will waive the PDI charges for you. Kind of like a cop letting off another cop that was caught for speeding.

When I was looking for one I found most dealers around TO were charging MSRP but the deposits required to order varied from $1000-$5000. I'm happy with the dealer, but Nissan Canada needs to get their act together and give the dealers more info. One example is how US dealers get VINS when the car is built, but Canadian dealers do not get VINS until the car is loaded onto a transporter in Vancouver.

Question

My bill of sale shows as follows:

1) MSRP $44,900 for Performance
2) Freight: TBA
3) Federal airconditioner tax: $100
4) Administrative fee: $150
5) $1,000 deposit (some TO area dealers were asking $2,000
)

total price (for now): $45,150 + GST+PST

Now I fail to see why I should pay GST+PST on item 3), which in itself is a tax? Isn't this double-dipping?

Also, why should I pay an admin fee if I'm not leasing/financing? Why is there PST on this? It's just a service.

I got my vin on aug. 26 and was told my car is at the port. How long do you think it will take for it to arrive in Ontario? I was given an estimated delivery time of 3-4 weeks. Do you think that is accurate?

I would be willing to bet that you will be driving your car by next Friday.
Nissan Canada has a ship porting every two weeks. So if many got delivered last week, figure you should get your two weeks after that.

Customers in Toronto have already started getting deliveries of their 350z. I saw one very close to my place on Sunday. As i was making a left on to Leslie, he was pulling into the Keg located between leslie and yorkmills, and leslie and sheperd. It was a beautiful silverstone 350. I pulled a U and went to get a closer look. Spoke to the new owner for a short time. He had picked it up on Friday from Scarborough Nissan. He loves it. Had already put alot of miles on it and said it was amazing to drive. Man was i jealous .
