Default How do I buy a 350z????

The real ques is, how much mileage can be reasonable on a used 350Z ? I am looking a a few 2003-2005 350z's that range from 45000 to 100000 miles on the clock. The higher mileage cars appear to be real bargain prices and a few of them have good maintenance records. But what do you guys think?

there are a lot of threads covering this....please search a bit and you will find all the answers

Read the top 100 commonly ask questions thread:

Tranny, check the tranny code for model, some early models had gear issues and may have been swapped, if the car has tranny CD009 your golden.

if it has the original tranny and shifts smooth, etc - your golden........

bushings,
front lower control arms, both of them, where they mount at the car, not at the ball joints.

The translink and compression arm bushing tear.
read here:
https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...ion-101-a.html

From there, have them get the car in the air and inspect it all, check all fluids, negotiate that kinda stuff, if bought from a dealer, etc..or do it yourself.

rotate wheels and pull on them...ensure wheel bearings are good.

check axle boots,
check power steering rack passenger side for leak.....if saturated but not fresh, your fine.

a higher mileage Z, the oem shocks will need replacing, the car will drive fine, but trust me, it would be good to replace the shocks......in that same thread i linked you will see listings for typical oem replacements found at autoparts stores.....100mile Z really benefit from new shocks installed.

rear diff bushing, also listed in that thread - look for rear leak on subframe, black streak marks...

etc..etc...etc..

i think you walk into a dealer or get one from private sale, alot of low milage z's have good maintenance records aswell, for me when i was buying mine i wanted a warranty so i got a low milage fairly new one, for u i guess whatever your budget or wife allows

Model Breakdown (2006):

Base:Bi-xenon HID's, five-spoke 18" rims, 6-speed MT only. No VSLD or cruise control.

Enthusiast: Adds TCS, VLSD, Cruise Control, Auto-dimming rearview mirror, aluminum pedals, Illuminated audio controls on steering wheel. Availble with MT or AT.

Performance: No longer exists in current lineup.

Touring: Adds VDC (manual only), Bose Audio w/ MP3 playback
capability, leather seats w/ power and heat. Available with MT or AT.

Track: Adds Brembo Braking system, underbody aero package, rear
hatch spoiler, lightweight Rays rims (18"x8.5" Front, 19x9.5" rear). MT only.

Grand Touring: Adds Brembo brakes and Rays Rims from Track model, underbody aero package, Bose sound system, and leather seats. Available with MT or AT.

So I was reading this Top 100 Question thread and well, I have a question.

I'm in the market for a used 350Z and I think I'll be more happy with a 2006 model.

The base model type does not have VLSD, but one step up is the enthusiast and it does come w/ VLSD. Next, one step up above the enthusiast is the touring, and there's no mention of it having VLSD. Does that mean it doesn't have VLSD? Or maybe it's not a step up?
