From my understanding, you price the car at dealers cost (assume $30000 ) . Then apply the discount of 2.87% ( the correct rate as of Apr 2003), such that we're now at $29139. Now add back in 2.5%.
So, we're now at $29,867. Then add back in destination $545. The following fee is why I say you didn't get it below invoice. Now you must add in the marketing fee, which is somewhere around $200, which I believe depends upon region. $200 is the lowest I've seen.
How about we settle that it costs right around invoice ? Not 3% below.

I bought my track model under VPP plan "C" 3 weeks ago.
MSRP - 35,670
Invoice - 32,575
Less Destination - 32,035
Discount 2.87% - 919
Subtotal - 31,116
Dealer Fee 2.5% - 778
Destination - 540
Net Sales Price - 32,433
As you can see my sales price was $142 under invoice or $3,237 off of MSRP. A marketing fee was not charged in my case. The only way to get 4K off is if the dealer fee was waived, but that really isn't possible since the pricing is system generated.

So ignoring destination charge, the price of the car in the above example is 29,867 + 200 =30,067 . Thus, ABOVE the invoice stated at the beginning of the example. It's even more above invoice if your dealer cost was lower than $30,000.

Plan "C" is friends & family and plan "D" is business associates. I believe they are currently calculated in the same manner. Sounds like the dealer may not have correctly added back in the dealer installed items. I would look for the orginal Nissan MSRP and I would bet your discount would mirror something like mine.

Not sure what plan I fell under. All I know is, the MSRP for my '04 Touring was $36010, and I got the car for a little bit over $32000. The MSRP included a variety of factory installed options as well as some dealer-installed ones I didn't want (chromed wheels and billet grill), but wouldn't remove them.

VPP for extended friends and family is plan C.
I'll settle for the final price is at invoice, depending on whether a marketing fee is charged.
As mention above, the numbers are system generated. I think your numbers are slighty biased since you had extra dealer installed options. I'm using numbers as generated by the VPP plan C as if you purchased now. From what others have quoted, their numbers seem more accurate.
