Default 2003 Possible Purchase

Hey Guys,

I have the opportunity to get a 2003 automatic 350z for $5k from an extended family member. 131k miles(I only live 1 mile from my job so I wont be adding too many more miles), Valve Cover Gasket needs to be repaired(I think I can get him to repair it before I buy it), small dent on drivers side fender right above the wheel well on the crease(like if a golf ball was to hit it). It's Gray.

What do you guys think about this deal? It will be my daily, and like I said I won't be putting too many miles on it.

Thanks for the insight.

J.

I wouldn't buy it. Too old. Too many issues. Why not just save up and buy a better 03? A decent one is selling for like 12k now with 70k miles. That's pretty cheap.

5K for a 03 Z...needs a valve cover gasket!Small dent!
This a steal.I would'nt worry about the miles. If thats all thats wrong with it.
How is the usual "wear&tear"(seats/tires/wheel scrapes etc)?
I'd buy it in a heartbeat.Fix it up,more than double my investment if I wanted to sell it!
Go for it!

I don't see your reasoning actually. Because by the time that 03 is in great running shape. You would have spent a couple grand. So why not just start with a decent mileage 03.

You can't go wrong...if you were to fix those things you could sell it 2-3 years down the road for at least the same $

Any vehicle with 131k miles will have problems. You save money initially, but will be putting out $$$ to keep it running.

An opportunity is one thing. Taking advantage of an opportunity is another. If you do not act - you have jack.

there are other issues if at 131k it needs significant work. 131k is nothing for the motor if properly maintained. easy 200k before anything other than maintenance as long as it was maintained.
