Default Question on buying 06 350z

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

I'm going trying to go look at this Z over the weekend. I am aware of the oil consumption issue but if I check the oil and it looks good then test drive it, even if it had a bad oil consumption would i be able to tell after a little test drive? What else should I look at?

He also says its has brembo brakes. Does any other model have brembo for 06? If so how am i certain its a track model? I cant tell but it appears to me that it has leather and i did not think track model had leather for that year.

Hes asking 16900, and its nada value is 20k, obviously its way below blue book but do you think its a good deal even if he wont budge on the price?

thanks for your opinion

Side note.. has anyone on here asked a question about a z there were going to buy and someone on here owned it? That just came to mind haha.

Nice car,fair price...has a CAI.
If it drives out good,I'd buy it.
"Prices" on a Z will vary depending on the area, supply&demand.
How many miles on the car?

You wouldn't notice consumption unless it was RIDICULOUS after a test drive. Unless that drive is down to Texas and back.

I just bought my 06 a couple of months ago and you just have to take a shot on it if it consumes oil or not. So far mines turning out to be fine if it helps lol.

But this Z looks like it's in good condition. Has low miles and with 06+ you get the upgraded headlights/interior. Also pretty sure those aren't leather seats though because I don't see the power seat switches on the sides, and doesn't look there's the heater buttons on the console either. So I'm thinking it's the track model, but I could be wrong though.

Overall price wise I'd probably offer 15k and find that meeting point in negotiations.

Good luck though when you go check it out man!

Thanks everyone. Hopefully i will be posting in the 'new owner' section soon! A lot of Z's are now popping up for sale around my area. found an 04 touring with 40k miles asking 14900 at a dealer. Im definitely going to get as low price as i can and with all these choices i should get one soon!

No. You may be able to check oil level after, say, 1,000 miles. But after a test drive no.

This forum is filled with thinking about picking up a 350Z threads. Maybe 1 in 10 thinking about members ever gets a 350Z. And the other 9? Don't know - they never return.

Some people drive the Z, are excited with its performance and handing, and buy one.

Others ask more practical questions. Reliability? Gas mileage? Maintenance costs? Daily driver in snow?

If you want an exciting drive get a 350Z. If you want performance AND reliability look at the RSX.
