Default Buying 350z, Exhaust question

Hey guys, I have been watching over the forums for months now... Got myself a nice list of modifications before I even got the car -.-

So anyways, I saw this black 2003 manual 350z with 71.9k miles. The car is clean inside out... Clean Carfax report, but the exhaust is kind of black. I know this can mean oil consumption (which I know is an 06 issue mainly) but do you think this car burns oil? It has an aftermarket Injen exhaust on it. I heard it can be because of the aftermarket performance exhaust or w/e.

Oh and also there is a noise coming from the shift **** area... They said it was broken from the inside, which happens on rare occasions and that they ordered the piece and will replace it when they get it on Tuesday... That should be okay right?

They also might be giving some sort of warranty...

Let me know what you think. Here are some pics of the car I took.

They tend to run rich, black exhaust tips is nothing to be concerned about.

Warranty on a 2003? Probably not. Maybe you'll get some kind of 30/90 day guarantee.

Otherwise, it looks pretty good. It's a touring model BTW. Obviously the previous owner(s) was into doing some simple mods.

Thanks for the reply bro. Yeh it has a CAI and exhaust and some small mods but nothing major. Looks pretty clean for an 03 in my opinion. Yeh its gonna be like a 30 or 90 day guarantee. Sorry for the confusion there. 71k and the shifter problem is nothing to be worried about right? They are also gonna give me a 12k mile warranty on the shifter problem. And 71k aint high for this car imo.

Oh and when I saw all those red things under the hood I got worried for a second, but I guess he just replaced those since the car is an 03 and decided to go with Red for the looks?

The wires are a "grounding kit". The hoses look like the Samco silicone replacements - another popular mod.

If the noise is coming from the shifter, it's probably just some broken part or the mount. If they replace it with OEM, then yes it will have a 1 year part warranty.

the older 350z have transmission synchro grinding issues. They generally get the transmission fixed / replaced with a CD009 transmission, which are found on 06+. Hopefully the one you are buying has that done already. Other than that, looks pretty clean ;o

Can you tell me a little bit more about the grounding kit and the Samco silicone replacements bro? If you don't mind please...
And yes, I do remember it saying Samco.

They're cosmetic mods. Some would argue that a grounding kit adds some HP but it's doubtful.

If its doubtful, than even if it adds hp it would be unnoticeable.. That would be my guess, but it looks pretty badass...No downsides from what I see from looking around.

Samco hoses are more then just cosmetic IMO. They are a higher quality product compared to OEM hoses. Although tacky IMO, The calipers are fine. Like above said, as long as they're fixing the shifter issue, you should be good 2 go!

Car looks like it's in pretty good condition

You should probably determine what catalytic converter it has and that should explain your exhaust
