Got my 07 350Z touring about 10 months ago but considering upgrading to a Nismo version, so i need to sell mine. It is in immaculate exterior and interior condition, 79,000 miles, with new tires. Carmax lowballed me at 11,500 although I see similar for sale online for around 16,000 to 19,000.

I've looked at all those but they are theory more than reality - and there is a pretty big spread between the numbers from the various sites. I figured Z enthusiasts on this board would have more realistic numbers.

 

11.5 isn't terrible for that amount of miles, but what do you expect from a place that has to resell it? sell it privately and you should get more money.

I went and got my 2008 with 41k on it appraised right before winter. My car is pretty stock and I keep it very clean. The dealer offered me $9,000 claiming that they would not be able to sell it for months, nobody is looking for a car like this in the winter months etc. Needless to say I left the dealership offended.

A good friend of mine just sold his 08 base w/e exhaust and intakes / 49000 miles for 19200 in south florida.

Another friend just bought an 07 enthutiast with 29k miles bone stock for 21900

 

I purchased my 2006 Base 350Z in May of 2010 for 19K(sticker price was 23K) from a dealer. I know I paid a bit more than I should have, however the car was in near immaculate condition and only had 16k miles on it(for a 4~5 year old car that was crazy low). It was also a virgin(bone stock) which is hard to find these days. I could have gotten something similar with higher miles from a private seller. But from my own experiences, I have found that private sellers tend to be dishonest and ask unreasonable prices, especially for cars that have been modded/tracked/raced out.

If you have all the maintenance paperwork, know the car inside and out(including history). It should be an easy sell for a price you and the buyer will be comfortable with.

I got mine at a low price, but honestly if I was looking to buy an 07 Z, I've seen that year and model in the 16.6-17 range with those miles in my area. So anywhere from $17k-$15.5 I would think is reasonable

 

I bought my 07 HR Z, Manual, with 59K miles for 13.9 from a dealer, last October... How about that :P

Got an appraisal for CarMax as well, about a month ago for $11000 ...
I was like WTF !!

If you're upgrading, why get a Nismo ?
Just get a 370Z Nismo then...

I'm considering an upgrade, too... But looking at the G37.
Modded, that car is a beast !

But for now I'm enjoying my Z

 

wow. what a low price. did the consuming oil problem contribute to such a depreciation?

 

bought an 07 enthu with 16k miles on it 2.5 years ago for $17.5k. Immaculate condition, driven by a 50-60yo woman.

 

Bought mine almost 2 years ago, 2003 Touring, Brickyard exterior and frost interior. 90% exterior (2 small dents, $50 fix each, slight clearcoat degradation on hatch - can be bandaid'ed with a good detail), and 90% interior (driver's seat had a few wrinkles on the side bolster, passenger is perfect). 64k miles, bone stock for $13.6 private seller. I paid a little high, but the car's condition justified it. In two years I've had to get tires (second set the car's ever had!), and an O2 sensor. That and oil changes are the only things it's seen the dealership for. Also I had 100% service history for the car from the two owners prior to myself, including damage done to a wheel upon delivery of the car shortly after it was built.

 

It would consume almost all oil within 600 miles.

 

I work for a Nissan dealership(go ahead flame away) and will tell you the best way to get an idea of what a dealer will offer for your car will be from edmunds, and they will use the in "rough condition" even if its a flawless car, tips to get what you want, say you have a offer from another dealer on your trade for a reasonable amount more $1,000.00 to $1,500.00, stay there and grind out the deal and don't budge,! once you budge people in my job position will keep digging for very penny.and I highly recommend going towards end of them month when we are trying to hit quotas. At the end of the day it really comes down to what the dealership feels like doing.Hope this helps

 

Look at it this way.. You can take a huge hit on a trade-in for a same year Nismo, why not just straight up buy the Nismo body kit pieces? It'll cost you about the difference of trade-in, and you keep the touring interior.

It's actually something I've contemplated; doing a full Nismo conversion. It just makes more sense keeping all my mods already on my 07 Z and just changing up body rather than getting everything uninstalled, buying new car, + reinstalling. But then again since you are coming from stock, I'd still just keep the touring due to better interior.

 

I have an 07 full body kit Z Matte White and I got it for 18,500. Low miles at 27,XXX

 

Makes me contemplate how much i would receive for mine
