Would you pay $15,000 for this car?

I have a 15,000 dollar budget and I was looking to get an 06, but came across this one. What do you guys think?

Okay, the picture shows body looking good, should take closer look though. Write up sounds excellent for the price. If it's as good as the write up says and the body really in that good of shape, I would consider it a buyer's deal. But have a mechanic check it out to make sure everything is in good order would be a good safe way to go. (There's that much $ in the mods alone.)

Sounds like it might be really nice.
But keep in mind, there is a reason why most buyers try to avoid highly modded cars.
Having a turbocharger AND nitrous would make this car very highly modified.
You always have to worry if everything was properly installed, and that the car was never OVER-boosted, or that it was "run hard and put away wet" too many times, lol!
At a minimum, if you are going to make the drive to check it out, locate a qualified mechanic before you go (I found one to check out my car out of town on yelp!) make sure if you are serious about the car you have a complete check by the mechanic which includes a test drive, putting the car up on a rack and checking it thoroughly, and I would probably pay for a compression test too.
Could save you ALOT of headaches later too.
Because the other concern with highly modded cars is that they can be much harder to find someone to work on them.......
hope this helps - good luck with your search!

If you can afford to spend another 15k if things go bad then maybe, if you're on a budget Id look for a stock one. Just read some of the threads on here from other members who have bought pre-boosted cars and see what you may be in for.

sounds like its some rich guys toy, i only looked at pics and mileage since im burned out from reading CL ad 4 hour everyday LOL. show up with $14 cash im sure hell let you have it and i hope you got a smog hookup
Good deal in terms of miles, but not sure how reliable all the mods are with the car, or how much maintenance would be assuming something goes wrong. I'd just look for a base will low milage and no mods.
Guy Pops stock block on Momentum & UpRev, buys cheap built motor and says its 1K plus capable, are you shitting me. Nothing in this FS ad is forthcoming. Build Specs, a 1K plus motor build would be well over 20K, So he spends that kind of money on a motor and buys a bolton turbo kit, stock headers, a fuel setup that will support 400, no RFS, horribly painted stock wheels, has nitrous on it as well, his FS ad is a description of what is included in the momentum kit, which is no longer supported by anyone, not that its that important. His attention to detail is minimal, he probably doesn't know enough about cars to be a true enthusiast just wanted to have something to brag about or waste money. Common sense would tell me to stay away, this build has every corner cut possible, cheap guages, not supporting mods to indicate it was ever anything but a bolt-on stock block setup. He doesn't even specifically say its a forged motor. If I were buying this, it would be with the intent of beind able to part it out and put a stock motor in it and get 3k for the momentum kit, and have a low mileage 03 stock z for about 7k otherwise you would be better off finding one to mod yourself or with known parts. Yes the most I would spend on this is 10K.
I wouldn't purchase any car that's been turbo'ed unless the owner had some paper work to backup any/all work that has been performed on the car.
I would assume that anyone dishing $$$ to heavily mod a car, that they would keep receipts and/or paper work -- unless he did it all in his garage.
edit: nvm, description states he has all paperwork and receipts.

I'd run like hell unless you're able to do a lot of work yourself - or you're going to get it for between 10k-11k where you could sell off the momentum kit and be at a decent price. This car may "have a history" and not in a good way - I'd definitely get details on the engine rebuild, a leakdown test, have an experienced shop go over it with a fine toothed comb, and post an uncorrected dyno with AFRs on here to make sure nothing looks weird.

Haha alot of assumptions going on here, specs on "built" motor and trans from seller are a must (shop receipts from machinist should show all you need to know) .... Turbo kit/fuel/management all seem to be proper high quality components.... looks like cooling has not been addressed but a koyo aluminum unit is a cheap addition. That and an wideband afr meter of your choice is the only safety I see missing.
If your serious follow advice given in the thread (compression & leakdown test from mechanic of your choice). If he has no documentation to prove whats really in the "built" motor and trans run away fast.
