Question What are your thoughts on this Solar Orange?

Been window shopping for quite awhile for a Solar Orange Z, but they are pretty hard to come by. This one is 5 hours away from me. Haven't talked to they guy yet, hopefully soon.

I've always heard not to buy a modded car, but honestly this one has a few things I'd love to do myself (but never would get around to). I've had nothing but stock vehicles and always wanted to mod, but never appropriated the funds.

So can you Z owners give me some thoughts on the price of the car and the choice of mods he has listed. Also, what model is this car? I'd love to find a Z with leather. (IIRC, aren't all solar oranges touring models?)

Here is his original post on CL:
2007 350z HR - $17000

I've got my 2007 350z up for sell. It's Solar Orange only made the color in 2007, this car is real fast. It's showing 63,000 miles right now but will continue to climb due to it being my daily. The current mods on it are, Stillen Gen3 intakes, JWT clutch and flywheel(went to a 12 pound fly), exhaust from headers back, new TopSpeed Pro 1 suspension so it hooks better. The car accelerates like no other it has nitto 555s on the back for traction, tires all around about 80% left. It is throwing an 02 code due to no cats, would be willing to take it to Autozone to prove its 02. Doubled din touch screen with 1200 watt kicker amp pushing speakers and a kicker comp 12. Thanks for looking!

I love the fact it has some stereo mods and an exhaust (baring it sounds good).

I'm guessing those Nitto's are good tires.

Not sure if the JWT intake or TopSpeed Pro1 suspension are choice modifications?

I feel like I would be a lot more excited about the car if it didn't have the flywheel, clutch, or suspension mods...but I'm very noob so, if that is an asset to performance or not.

Guessing that is plasti-dip on the door handles and wheels, that should probably be a turn off.

I get the feeling the board will instinctly say to buy a stock Z, but I know myself well enough that even getting an exhaust would be a stretch for this penny pincher. I'd almost rather buy a nicely modded car having the mods finance into it from the get go.

What say you Z forum? I'm pretty noob to z33's, I've dreamed of a Z32tt for the past 12 years, but I need a good daily driver so I think the z33 will be my choice.

I plan to do some spirited driving in the car, but I'm not looking to buy a vehicle that's been a 19 year olds rag doll drag racer; I need a driver.

Thanks in advance for your input on the vehicle.

Price is ok but try to negotiate and bring it down a bit.

Other than that, it looks good to me. I think solar orange is a nice and rare color.

BTW, if you do end up getting it, remove the plasti-rice asap lol.

Neat that you responded to my thread kno

Pretty sure your car has been the wallpaper on my laptop for a few weeks now.

Being an Oklahoma State fan, this color just hits on an emotional level.

I texted with the owner of this SO a few times but we both work different shifts. Hope this turns out to be the one. If not, maybe you should sell me your car.

I'll post more pics as I get them.

Definitely. Maybe I'm wrong and it's powdercoated. Doubtful though.

I just hope this isn't a kid who is selling it.

kbb says ~14,500. If I could give him that for it, it'll be sold very soon if it checks out.

I'd skip it. Look for one from an old man.

That's the smart idea. However, as I stated earlier...if I do that, it'll never end up modded.

Good thing is, I love stock Z's. If I can't find a nice Solar Orange in the next month or two, I'll probably go after a nice stock black one.
