Default Should i buy?...

sup guys. i just recently sold my 02 wrx and now im looking into getting a Z. i hear alot of good things about them but im not to sure on the mileage to price ratio so im going to make this my CL suggestion thread.

ive mainly been looking at this because of the price and the guy seems to be in a hurry so i think i can get him down to 6600ish. i checked the car fax and it all seems good but the miles worry me. seems like alot for a 05. what yall think?

ive also been looking at this one. i dont like how it looks and its a bit pricy but i figure i can probably sell the hood and wing and make some money back.

Recently picked up an 05 35th Anniversary edition 6spd manual Z for $16,000 with 52k miles on it from the original owner. Try getting one with as low miles as possible, also try getting a track addition you won't regret it. The Silverstone grey one looks like a nice one but try to negotiate as much as possible.

If i was looking for a Z (03-05) with miles in the low 100k range, I would try to find one that is completely stock, not exceptions.

Here is one that fits that description, however it is auto

Here is another one and its a manual:

Good Luck on your search!

And beware of any CL ad (like the last one) that says the car has a "new timing belt". The VQ uses a steel timing chain that never needs to be replaced until you rebuild the engine.

thanks for the advice guys.
heres a couple more that i found

whats a reasonable price to offer this guy. clean, stock, low miles

this has low miles but im still waiting for interior pics and vin. messed up fender doesnt bother me as long as i can get the price down and see for myself that theres no frame damage. i drift so fender benders are inevitable.

It's difficult for those of us in other parts of the country to comment on pricing in Cali. Everything is inflated there and I have no real feel for what an acceptable offer would be there. My only comment is all the Zs you've posted seem to have high miles on them and to be ready to perform a major 100K service shortly after purchase.

The silver one is definitely worth taking a look at but i wouldn't pay more than 8k for it. GL!

First of all, what is your price range? Will you need to take out a loan to buy or do you have cash ready? What is your credit score like?

Also is Craigslist the only place you are looking?

Sites like Cars.com an AutoTrader have a large database of used cars that is constantly updated and usually more reliable then CL ads.

The marketplace in SoCal is saturated beyond all belief with Z's. Take your time to find a good deal.
