Default I want to buy a Z, need some thoughts on this one

Hello All,

I bought a 2003 350z Enth 6 speed - brand new when they first came out. That car gave me the usual problems, window motors, tire feathering, but nothing major. I kept it for over 10 years and I loved it.
I got a 2001 M5 6 speed after that, 400 hp, deleted mufflers, dropped on coils, man this car was a beast and sounded better than any exhaust out there for the $$$. I kept it for a year and got cut off and totaled it.

Due to a time crunch and insurance reasons I jumped into a 2010 lexus IS350, nav, etc. This is an awesome car, and I have smoked a few 350z's, a 2012 Mazda Speed Turbo, and a 370z, but I miss having something fun to drive. I wish they made the Lex in a 6 speed so im looking around again.

I want to get a 370, I just loved the 350z so much and the reliability, that its calling my name. Took my Lex in for a recall and saw this 2010 Base at the dealership.

Not trying to offend anyone but here who may have this done, but here are my cons in no specific order:
  • RED (not my ideal color) I had 1 RED car before and it was a C5 corvette
  • Some moron put 22inch Ruff Wheels on it - 245/35/22 Front and 295/25/22 Rear
  • The wheel has so much gap that the brakes look terrible, my IS350's calipers are about as big as the latest Nismo.
  • The steering wheel wrap- Who does this unless you are driving a 1976 hoopty or you have damaged the leather
  • They also added what appears to be a 10 or 12" Sub which takes up most of what ever space there is in the back (not shown and it just sounds all bass given the amount of area)
  • There is no blue tooth (hard to let go when you are used to it but not a deal breaker).

Now before any one jumps down my throat, the blue tooth and sound system is minor. The Wheel/Tire setup is what concerns me because you just don't put that type of setup on a performance car IMO. Add the wheel wrap and sub, and I feel like I should probably stay away from this car. I'm afraid some knuckle head had no idea when taking care of this car. Again no offense to anyone who has a red Z or has large wheels, its just not my thing and its kind of a flag for me. I need some thoughts, suggestions.

It has 53k Miles on it and they want $19,600. Its just convenient to have Lexus take care of this since they want my car and they can work it out easier.

They have a 2008 PORSCHE CAYMAN S w/ 18k miles for 37 grand, buts way out of my price range. http://www.lexusoforlando.com/detail.../5939100?cid=1

Thanks all, sorry it was long. After owning a Z for over 10 years, I want to be back in the club.

My bad. That car would be $30k minimum in my area. Minus the steering wheel I wouldn't be too worried, personally. You can always swap wheels and tires.

Price is ok but there are tons of better 370z's for sale if you keep looking

I would pass and wait for a Sport version with OEM wheels. Unless you can talk the dealer down below $17,000 I wouldn't buy it. You need to get new wheels and replace those tiny brakes and it should be easier just to find one that already has both

Also, who knows how the owner took care of the car with such questionable modifications, it's normally a red flag to me when I see these kind of mods
