Default S2000 or 350Z?

I'm looking to get a second car to eat up my daily miles and semi-retire my 99 Integra GS-R that's close to 200k miles. I'm considering the S2000 simply because I've had Hondas my whole life but I do like torque and I'm not much of a "handling over everything" type of driver. That's why I was thinking of a 350Z because I always wanted one before I even learned who to drive. So what's your guys' opinion S2000 or 350Z. (Probably shouldn't be asking a 350Z forum if I should get a 350Z but i may be wrong and some people will have different opinions)

If you're not buying for the "handling over everything", it really doesn't matter. Just choose the one you like better.

Personally, if/when I find the right AP2, I'm going to buy it. The S2K is hands down the more fun to drive car (out-of-box STOCK)! The motor sings in the upper range, handling is good without mods, and.... top down!! (Unless of course you buy a ZR)! But I'd be curious why you'd want such a car if you're not into the handling? There's so many other cars that fit into this niche with just-OK handling.

I like the S2000 and seriously considered one before I ordered the Z. But the best of the S2K is above 7000 RPM, and man, does that engine SING! The VQ is built to deliver its best performance between 3000-6500 RPM, so it's easily accessed on an everyday basis. On the track, the Z is the faster car. But which is more satisfying? The choice is yours.

Some of the most fun I had on track was with s2k. But it's not my cup of tea. Needs to be full tilt to be fast and God slow in a straight line

Z33 all day

I've owed 2 S2000s. Still have number 2 a 2009 the last year of the run. The reason I'm on this forum is because my wife bought a Z33. We still have it and my son owns it now. The 350Z is a much better daily driver with more interior and trunk space and creature comforts. It also has much more usable hp although it's quite a bit heavier and I might add sturdier. S2000 is a theft magnet so you can't park it in the street and expect it to be there when you come back. Don't get me wrong I'm an s2k guy through and through. But for a daily driver my vote is on the Z.

Welcome and thanks for a informative first post. Not to take this too far OT, but your feedback makes me wonder how durable the Z33 chassis is than the S2K. The FM platform is clearly overbuilt and my pre-order '03 model has retained full lateral stiffness over its 106K life. How about the engine in the S2K? Any signs of wear on long term engines being consistently revved to redline?

You could get two 350z's for the price of the s2000, superglue them together and have 574hp

lol I myself don't consistently rev to the redline but S2000s that have been turboed or supercharged are really none for the worse... so they say.
But I wouldn't do that either. I'm an N/A guy. Supercharge? Possibly in my wildest dream. Seriously? A supercharged S2000 is the way to go for reliability.
As far as chassis? Z car chassis is heavy and feels sturdier. Z car weighs much more than S2k.
