Default 03 Touring Pricing& questions

Considering tradeing from my 02 S2000 to an 03 touring, my local Nissan dealer has a red touring with leather and 3750 miles and they are asking 31900, the car is in immaculate shape and pulls very strong (as compared to my no torque s2000), only complaint I had honestly was when I shifted from 1st to 2nd the car seemed to miss (the traction control was off) it just didnt seem like the clutch wanted to do its job. When I shifted the car kinda died and then caught again (thats the best way to explain it) it did not stall or anything. Any ideas or is this typical. Thanks

Jeremiah

I'd get a new Enthusiast instead. You get a new car & save money (Enthusiast is around $29K). All models have same engine, drivetrain, & dropdead looks. Just bells & whistles are different.

3750 miles is pretty nre to me, enough to knock off 5000 off the price and get the 100K extended warranty. I like the amentities and the wheels on the touring also.

31,900 isn't a bad price but I'd try to nock them down to say 30 or 30.5. Before I did that I'd open the driver side door and check the production date of the car. if it was manufactured before 02/03 I'd pass on it since you're likely to incounter lots of the early model issues like tire feathering, transmission, etc.

Mine was made 03/03 and I've had just 2 minor problems covered under TSB's (window grease & fuel door not opening).

Good luck!

If you want a brand new '04 Z...I just bought mine 2 wks. ago at $99.00 over INVOICE!! Just e-mail trente@users.ccleads.com or tlearlie@hippodromecars.com or call 1-615-248-5100 ask for Trent Earlie. He's a great guy to deal with. He will fax you your vehicle history sheet to you ahead of time. I flew into Nashville TN. in the morning and drove home by 1:45 pm. It took less than 2 and 1/2 days to lock up the deal on my car. The car was produced on 4-10-04....I bought a Touring Roadster!! Good Luck!

I couldn't agree more. Anything less than the touring just felt like a stripper model to me.

what are you talking about? stripper model? Enthu has the same engine and slip dif as the touring so whats stripped about that. Also if you wanna get tech about things the touing is gonna be slower at the track in the 1/4 mile, prob not by much like 1/10 of a sec but it will be because of the extra stuff added that you think makes a dif. The track model is gonna be the quickest because they modded it a lil bit dif than the rest of the cars. Do your homework befor crapping on peoples cars because that lame. Oh yeah I am about to the the Enthu model for 200 above invoice.

Default Re: what

Twentyinrims, it was just my personal opinion. Calm down. And please don't accuse me of not doing my homework. I am very familiar w/the equipment on these cars. And aside from brembo brakes, wheels, and the aero kit the track is no different from a performance...I don't know what "modding" you're referring to that makes it faster.

And when I was referring to the enthusiast as a stripper, I made no mention of performance whatsoever. I just don't like the fact that it lacks basic amenities that all my other cars (old and new) have such as power seats, leather seats, etc. The enthusiast also has rims that IMO don't look as good as the 18s, and it lacks VDC. Those things are what I find to be "stripper" about the enthusiast.

Don't get your panties in a bunch. I'm happy to see anyone drive any Z, I was merely pointing out that I agree with the poster in that I would not buy a Z without the amenities of the touring. And there are some folks who would not buy anything but the track. It's fine as long as we all get what we want. I do think that your hostile response to a simple post is indicative of some underlying discontent with what you're purchasing though.

Well it's over 100k people now & freeway traffic sucks. Caltrans is currently widening the freeway to make things better.

My wife was born & raised there too. Maybe your families know one another ?

I bought the touring for basically the same reasons. I became used to certain "ammenities" on the cars I had before the 350Z so I didn't want to give that up. I just wish a sunroof option was available...

Definitely shop around.... I used the internet and let the dealers give me the best price. I bought my 04 Touring sight unseen and due to having already negotiated with another dealer, got the same car with more options for less money. Bought it under dealer's invoice. $34,800 sticker price purchased for $31,000. They even delivered it to my office......They get real anxious the last day of the month! I'm in the Orlando, Fl. area so I utilized the fact that there are 5 dealers closely located and about 15 within 75 miles.
