Default Driving Z cross country - need clear bra first - help

Need a little help guys. Going to NC (from Phx) to pick up my new Z from a private party (am I crazy? probably) and will be driving it back. I'll be short on time but I want to get a clear bra put on the front of the car before I come back to avoid rock chips and the like. Where should I go to get this done and how much is a good bra going to run me with installation? A Nissan dealer?

I'll most likely be bringing it back from the Atlanta are so if there's anybody there that knows a reputable place, please let me know. Thanks!

ALMOST a true member....

Dont forget to get clear bra protection for your splaash gaurds if your car is new.
I cannot stress this enough.
Rocks will beat your splash gauards to death and thus chip your paint.
With the bra on them your oem guards will stay mint.
They only cost like 30 bucks for the guards so its well worth it.

Appreciate the offer 430ztt but that's kind of the whole point to the bra...the protection. I'd kick myself everytime I saw a new chip on just the passenger side fender. Thanks though.

I know a lot of people have gotten this done to their Z. No avg. prices to give along with installation prices. Just don't want to get ripped.

thats fine...you could get that piece for probably $10 or so...it covers the top of the passenger fender...the front part of the fender is covered and that is where you would get most of the rock chips...just let me know...its sitting there collection dust....

Jp,
You could use this site.
http://www.xpel.com/products/configu...e=29&model=740
This will give you an idea of what the kit cost. I wouldnt recommend trying to put that stuff on yourself unless you have done it before.

no, you are not insane.

I flew from colorado springs to portland, OR for work. On thursday night I left portland and few through chicago to Manchester, NH to pick up my car. Got there about 8am. picked up my car, drove to PA, stayed the night there with a girl i know. went from PA to Kansas City. Spent the night there with another girl i knew. got up the next morning, went to my friend's house. We installed my MSD ignition, two step, and linelock. also did some programming on the autronic and worked with the J&S safeguard. the left at about 7 pm and drove back to colorado springs. got home at about 4 am, turned around and flew back to portland for work at 8 am.

Totals: 3200 Miles of flying (Portland to Manchester)
2300 miles of driving
Sex with 2 different chicks (both of which i had dated before)
1 MSD Ignition installed
1 MSD Two Step installed
1 Linelock installed
a bunch of other stuff
about 5 packs of cigarettes smoked
about 6 hours of sleep total
went through snow, rain, sleet, and sun

getting home in a new mr2? priceless.

Thanks SvR! I see you have a silverstone as well, is the bra noticeable? Good investment?

MR2 - dayum. I thought I was crazy. You take the cake bro. Unfortunately for me, I'd be stopping in Austin and staying with my sister and stopping in El Paso staying with my parents. So, needless to say, no sex for me! That would definitely make the trip more tolerable though. My fav part of your story was the in depth detail of the lengths you went to to get your Mr. 2 and then in your sig it says 'Sold' !!

Think I'm going to end up shipping it though...would have to take off work, not to mention the extra miles on the car, etc. Shipping will run $800. Anybody know of a reputable but fairly priced shipping company. I've already gotten quotes from like 15 co.'s but figured I'd ask. Thanks

A very worthy cause to sell it for. I commend you.
A friend of mine had a 95 MR2 I belive, Jspec turbo swap. Oh my, fastest car I've ever ridden in. Sooo sweet. Somewhere in the 300+hp range.

thanks,

yea, once i was done with the black one, it didn't really matter that it originally was a J-Spec engine... i got rid of everything that made it special compared to the USDM one. (mostly the difference in the turbo and a couple of other minor things). I would have killed for a 95... but they are pretty rare (less than 100 95 turbo's in the US)
