Supposedly this new stuff works specifically with orbiter polishers and works with Zaino Z-2/Z-5. No need to clean like the other swirl removers.

I have a Random oribiter waiting impatiently as well. I am on vacation this week, I was hoping it would be released so I could start this coming up weekend!

Yea, I can't wait to try it Doesn't look like we'll get to use for a bit. But the summer is long!

Go to Lowes and buy the Porter-Cable 7424SP, it's usually only $109. Then go to www.topoftheline.com and order the velcro backing plate for the PC. Get some of their Lake Country brand polishing pads. You can find some good instructions on how to use the PC for polishing a car on the Autopia site: http://autopia.org

Sal has told me that if you use it by hand it will only be a paint cleanser, if used with a machine it will be a swirl remover.

And btw, the part number for the Porter Cable buffer at Lowes is 7336

I'll stick with my Menzerna stuff (Menzerna Intensive Polish -> Final Polish II) for this, thanks. I continue to use Zaino as a sealant...but I'm having serious doubts about the effectiveness of what will seemingly amount to a glaze or light polish and not solve serious paint problems.

...that won't stop me from buying a bottle and reviewing it though

I'd personally stick with Meguiars #82 or Meguiars #83 from the Professional line. Great products that dont cost too much.. and get results...

not my Z .. names will remain anon. Used Meguiars pads / soft buff yello, soft buff tan with a porter cable.

before

after

fantastic

my swirls are still not 100% gone despite layering Z5 like buggery (i didnt want to cut a brand new car just yet - ill wait for some scratches to appear)

does anyone know if u can use the swirl remover straight on top of ur Z2/Z5 layers, or would u need to do the whole dawn wash thing and start layering from scratch

Dawn's only purpose was to remove "other" brand name waxes and polishes from the surface before your first application of Zaino, you never, ever use Dawn again on the finish while using the Zaino system. The new Zaino Paint Cleanser and Swirl Mark Remover will have a compatiable base with Z-2 or Z-5, meaning you can buff the paint with the new product and your Porter Cable and then apply Z-2 or Z-5 right on top of the freshly buffed surface and not have adhesion problems like you would if you have used a 3M product before Z-2 or Z-5.

Unlike 3M or Menzerna, the new Zaino swirl remover will have a base that is compatiable with Z-2 or Z-5 meaning you can use the new Zaino swirl remover and then go straight to Z-2 or Z-5 and still have proper bonding whereas Zaino would not bond to Menzerna or 3M polishes.

The new Zaino product WILL remove serious paint problems, I have used the stuff and it is a great product, I took out some nasty scratches with it on my black Silverado............

I might add, that I noticed the "other" waxes were DEFINITELY not 100% gone after washing with dawn... not until I used claybar was I convinced.

Kevin interesting u note adhesion problems with 3M and Z2/Z5

my detailer mate suggested i use 3M Perfect-It (the commercial version) or one of the PoorBoys SSR1 or SSR2 to remove the swirls completely before applying the Zaino

once summer rolls along in a few months, ill use try the Zaino cleanser

now when's it coming out....

Ordering as we speak, Too bad it could have shipped last week since I am on vacation this week. Oh well, sounds like next weekend will be busy getting swirls out.

I am really hesitant on using the orbital for the first time.
