Default Zaino freaks

ok i see that in some sigs and such some folks are boasting astronomical numbers of zaino coats. how often do you all use this stuff, every month? why so many? does it not last? now don't get me wrong, every one of you who has such a high number of coats-the Z's look great! just really curious

i use NXT every 3 months, which i think is excessive because it doesn't need it!

every coat chemically binds to the layer beneath it. therefore the more coats, the deeper and richer a paint will look. theoretically.

If you read the Zaino website it says to basically put on as many coats of Z2/Z5 as you want until you're satisfied. Then, just wash with Z7 and occasionally spray with Z6 detailer.

Some people ignore that suggestion and just keep putting on new coats. If you have the time, I imagine it's worth it!

Consider that you can put up to three coats on it in a day, it's easy to see where a few weekends of Zainoing will add up.

THEORECTICALLY being the key word..

Okay, I'm off to order some Zaino. LOL I've had my car for a couple of months. It came with some Blue Coral "paint protection" crap on it that I refused to pay the dealer for. I waxed the Z last night with Mcguires Liquid Gold. I plan to try Zaino and I going to go the whole route with the clay bar so I figured the Mcguires wouldn't hurt until the Zaino comes. Of course I used to be a Zymol freak when I had my Porsche. I don't think I'm completely sold on these high end waxes/polishes, but I still use them. LOL

I'm lucky that my car goes from my garage at home to a garage at work.

Yes it's expensive but it goes a long way, last a long time, and looks great - IMO it's worth it.

While it may seem like a lot of work you don't do the whole process every time you detail your car. You really only need to do the claybar steps the first time to prep it. There's no use putting Zaino or any other wax/polish over a dirty surface.

I do the Z-2 regularly. I do Z-5 every couple of months to help hide any swirls. Sometimes I wash then followup with the Z-6 spray and that's all. There's no hard rules about what you have to use and when you have to use it.

Well, I've had my car just over 2 yrs and have 30 coats (Z2, Z5) plus I have no idea how many times I've used Z6 (now Z8). I try to trow on a least 1 coat every other wash but I'm not always able to due to time (or when I'm washing my big a$$ SUV on the same day). I really don't think thats over the top but the shine def gets noticed. I have people ask me all the time "how many coats of wax you got on there?".

Love the Zaino and if I had more time I would be up to 100+ like the Zaino Master Dr Bonz.

ok one more question, and this one is pretty dumb probably, but is Zaino a wax? or is it just a polish?

It's really neither. A polish has a mild abrasive. It's not really a wax, in the sense of carnauba wax. It's a polymer - a synthetic wax.

It is a polymer sealant to be exact.

I don't have 100+ yet. ONLY 94.

No, it isn't necessary to do this. One layer will shine and protect for at least 3 months, possibly more.

Sorry to change the subject, but I see in Dr Bonz's gallery a nice cellphone mount, above and to the right of the center console.

Where can I find one like that?

Thx!

I always have, and always will be a Zymol freak. What that thing did for my cavalier and Grand Am cars and my Z currently is outstanding. I've been to numerous boards and yet when it comes to black, the carnauba waxes just gives it depth like no other can. The only Synthetic I've used on my SB 350Z is the Meguiars NTX, which gave it a heck of a reflection shine, but no depth whatsoever in color. I see no reason to switch from my Zymol. To each his own!

Its a little expensive because you have to buy the Zfx with the Z2 (you can get z1 in replace of zfx but i read the zfx is better). One ounce of the Zfx/Z2 will give me 6 coats....thats how thin you spread it....The Z2 is 8 ounces so its a total of 48 coats....not bad for 35 bucks...but man after the 48th coat you won't even be able to recognize what color your car is from all that reflection lol Just look at Paul350z's roof.....wow unreal!

You're right it won't hurt - it will exceed all previous notions of shine and depth that you have. And after a little bit of work (Zaino can be a relaxation exercise) you will look back and say and then and then just because you have found the secret and that secret is Zaino!
