Default PPW Owners, Clay away!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say what a difference clay bar made on my PPW Z. A lot of the annoying little yellow "bug gut" stains and almost all of the black spots that I thought were paint chips came right out with the claybar. I was really impressed.

Mothers California Claybar is awesome. It leaves my paint so smooth and allows the polish to adhere very easily, uniformly and leaves the paint looking real shiny.

that yellow bug gut stain actually gets removed?? I thought it was soaked in permanently. I tried rubbing at it for a minute nonstop.

If you have some protection on your car, bug guts will take a little time to eat through. Enough time for you to wash it off or in this case, clay it away.

Once the acids etch the clearcoat or paint then there's nothing you can do to clean it, it needs to be repaired. That would involve compounding it out or wet sanding it. Not a simple solution, especially if you sand away the clearcoat.

from my experience the yellow spots fade away after a few days.

Just used Mothers California Claybar on my wifes PPW? Maxima it is unbelivable what it did for the finish. I took the comments on claybar with a large grain of salt but after doing the hood and front bumper and quarter panels I can not believe the difference. The finish is as smooth as my 2 week old Z and the wax job after claybar and wash looks fantastic.
