wetsanding???
has anyone tried wetsanding on their new Z? This is one way to remove surface imperfections such as orange peel, etc. to achieve an ultra smooth show car finish.
Just wondering if this has been tried or even if the Z has enough clearcoat layers to make it feasible.

I would highly advise you NOT to wet sand the clear coat of a factory painted car, I do not care what anyone says, there is not enough layers of clear on a factory car to be able to have enough clear left after sanding.
This thing about wet sanding cars for a perfect finish carries over from people hearing about it done to show cars and cars that have been repainted, what they do not tell you is that on a car painted in a shop for car shows is that the painter will lay down 12 to 15 coats of clear knowing ahead of time that he is going to sand off about half of those layers of clear coat to remove uneveness and imperfections. BUT, car makers to do not make this allowance for extra layers of clear mainly because it would cost too much and most people are not going to take sand paper to their new car.
