I was at a classy shop today, the pretty much work with porshes, but they will do anything, for instance an azure came in at one point, and they were working on a mint candy apple red thunderbird.

the thunderbird is what caught my attention, cause they were wetsanding it. it kind made me wanna get mine done. I asked tho, 450-1200$ depending on the size of the car I guess. I dont have the money right now, but maybe one day, the guy did a real good job, and was very maticulous about it.

just thought Id share, maybe some day Ill do it.

 

I asked my body man about this same thing a few weeks ago.

The price you were quoted probably is for the wet-sanding only. If you are really, really lucky you won't have to do anything else.

More likely, tho, is that they will have to re-clearcoat the car, then wetsand a little more. If this is the case, you can probably double the price you were quoted.

The guy I talked basically said that the difference between the regular finish and what you would have after wetsanding did not justify the additional cost.

 

yeah your probably right, this was a shop tho, I dont think they did painting at all, just wetsanding.

for all I know that paint might not have had a clear coat, but I think it did, cause... well if it didnt it wouldnt look this good after all this time.
