Question The California Duster

Do any of you use this duster? Is it as good as it is advertised as being? And it will not scratch the clearcoat the slightest bit? I'm probably gonna pick one up tomorrow. There have been many times when my fenders and what not have just been dusty and i would use a soft detailing cloth, but the cloth just kinda moves it around until u eventually get it picked up. I saw one in a auto parts store and researched it online and it sounds great if it lives up to its advertising.

I use it and it works great. Just keep up your car and you will never have to wash it. I haven't washed my car with water in over 2 months. California duster and quick detailer

Get it - it's the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to keeping your car clean.

Too bad my car is covered with salt here in IN right now, . I just have to take it to the garage at work and wash it once a week, haha.

CA duster is pretty much worthless in Hawaii since it rains at least every week.

I used it and it was great until it was absolutely filthy and I tried to wash it. Let's just say that you should never machine wash it.

You can wash it, just not in hot water as that strips the paraffin off of the threads.

From their FAQ http://calcarduster.com/faq.asp

If you find it necessary to clean your Duster because it is too dirty or if the Duster stops lifting dust, it can be washed. You may hand wash your Duster in cold water with a mild detergent such as Woolite, then air dry. Do not use hot water to wash or hot air to dry, as heat or harsh detergent may remove the special paraffin treatment.

If it scratched yours, then you did it wrong.

I stopped using my CA duster almost immediately, because it left weird waxy / oily streak marks or something. It left a haze all over the car. What did I do wrong?

Probably didn't leave it wrapped on laying on paper long enough to absorb the excess parafinn off the threads.

Also your car has to be fairly clean and dry. I notice if I use it in the morning that would happen. I wait till before noon to use it.

I've been using the California Dusters on both the Z and the wife's Civic for over 9 months now and absolutely love it. I've got the big car duster for the exterior and the small one for the interior.

Like Rickdogg stated above, I used to wash the car once a week; now, with the duster and quick detailer, I wash the car once every month or six weeks. Highly recommend!

Fully agree. I've used them for at least 5 or 6 years and they work wonders on removing the fine dust that settles on a garaged car. The California duster and quick detailer are a great combo.
