Default for the first time... unsatisfied with new Z2.

been a loyal zaino customer for 3 years now. used exclusively zaino product, starting with the brand new Z, and a zaino clay bar, always used Z1 and either Z2 or later on Z5. finally ran out.

ordered their new polish, and Z2 formula, as well as ZFX for the first time.

figured after 3 years Id start from scratch, it was cold... so I just wanted to try it out, I started with a clay bar and joy wash, just a third of the hood. wanted to see the difference it would make.

no beading at all on that 3rd of the hood. despite 3 coats.

anyone else used the new Z2 formula? how'd it work?

I washed and waxed the whole car yesterday, but havent wet it yet to see if it beads.

I experienced somthing like your describing last spring. It was the weirdest thing, hardly any beading whatsoever at first. But I eventually determined it was some freak weather conditions or some other factor that day, because a few days later it was beading as great as ever, really weird. Wait for a change in weather, or just wait a few days and see if it improves.

Does it look good?

I switched over to the new Z-2 last year when it first came out. I didn't notice any difference in the beading effect though. It does seem to go on differently than the old Z-2 but that shouldn't have any effect on the beading ability once it cured and wiped off.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's your first time dealing with Z-* + ZFX. What was the temperature and humidity like when you applied it? How long did you leave it on before removing it? How much did you mix and how many drops of ZFX?
