Zaino ZFX Flash cure thingy = faster dry time?
I've read and reread the info on the Zaino site about their new ZXF "Flash cure" Accelerator Additive and I'm still confused.
Basically, you use/add this stuff to make the wait time between polishes shorter? As in, then you could do more polishes in a day because the dry/cure time is shorter?
Hep!
*edit*
I get it now. NM. =)

Here is the short version of the benefits.
(originally from Sal Zaino)
The new Zaino product will be an accelerative additive that can be
mixed with Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5....
Below are just a few of the improvements....
1. When mixed as per directions, you will not need to apply Z-1...
2. It will reduce the drying time, thus making the polish more user
friendly in damp environments...
3. It will increase the gloss factor and extend the durability level..
4. It will have an instant cure time, so you can immediately apply
multiple coats.. No more waiting between coats...
5. And more........

By the time you work your way around the car, it's already been 15-20 minutes and you're ready to wipe off where you started. I've had to wait no more than 35-40 minutes in 50 degree weather (temp inside the garage) when using ZFX.

The curing starts AFTER you buff it off. That is why you have to wait between applications when NOT using the ZFX.
Zaino is completely different from any other product. I was lucky enough to test out the ZFX for a couple of years before its release. I now use it with every coat, even though it isn't necessary.
Hey Masta,
My boyfriend and I flipped a coin and did his car (Eclipse) first and the mine on Sunday. We fought the Santa Ana's all day - made fighting water spotting and wind-blown debris a pain.
Seven hours later and 2 coats of Zaino per car, we were done!
I have to say that I felt I needed to use more Zaino per application than what was recommended on Ira's sheet because it was hard to see how much we were applying. Because of the wind, we had to do the polishing in the garage and a single over head light - so that made it even harder to see.
We both felt that the base paint/clear coat on the Z was shinier than the Eclipse - but then the Eclipse's paint (silver) has a much larger metallica chip, which may have effected the shiny look. I can say that the Eclipse paint hid orange peel much better than the Z paint.
All and all, I'm glad the first Zaino treatment is done of both cars. In retrospect, DON'T DO TWO CARS FROM SCRATCH on the same day. You'll totally exhaust yourself.
