Default Coffee & Leather = Oops :(

While I was coming to work this morning I spilled my new large cup of Starbuck all over my passenger seat. I all ready wiped up all the coffee but looks like there is a stain now. Any suggestions on how you clean/condition and remove the stain? Thanks!!!

Coffee contains oils in it, so I would probably use a light mild soap solution with water on a cloth to help break it down. Do not pour soap or water directly onto the seats, and do not use a strong soap or detergent like tide/era or dawn. You may get the oil up but will also take the leather dye up too. I know because I've done that by accident on a previous car with leather.

After you're done and get the stain up, make sure you immediately condition the seat to restore the moisture in it since soap dries leather out. You may need to reapeat the process a couple times, but just be patient and it should come up.

Have you tried club soda? Its milder than most soaps. Start mild and then work up?

I agree fully with the above....
Like kpiskin said, "Be patient", take your time, and only do small sections of the seat at one time, and re evaluate after it dries... I'm personally a really big fan of "Mother's Leather" two part system.... alomost as much as I like coffee, and hense, seem to spill as much out on my seats as I actually intake....

BTW: Club-Soda works on carpets (especially white ones with fresh red-wine stains), but I dont think it would do anything to help out on leather fabric...
