hey guys, when i purchased my car (used) it came with iforged polished aluminum rims, and they were super-shiny. ever since then, i have never been able to get them to look the same. they look really good when i wash them (nxt gold car wash), but they dry with a haze. i have searched, but havnt found anything answering this ?. does anyone have any experience with any products that might help?

use soap and water. then follow up with a few coats of wax for protection.

I bought some Eagle 1 Never Dull a couple days ago. I'm gonna try it tonight. I'll post results later.

 

Funny I searched metal polish and got 52 hits.

 

I have polished iForged wheels as well & I'm thinking of fully re-polishing my wheel & then applying some ZoopSeal to help prevent oxidation, water spots, etc...From what I've heard, it should help keep the wheels clean for up to 2 years since the grime & dust should wipe right off. Key thing I've heard though is that once you apply the ZoopSeal, it has to be perfectly clean or whatever spot you apply it over will stay there. What do you think?

Either that or get em' clear coated. I have only 1 re-finished rim that isn't clearcoated, so that's why I have to polish it.

 

that zoop seal seems very intriguing.

 

I polish out motorcycle frame's and swingarms from time to time and as my
final I use extream metal polish or 200mph polish, I have tried almost everything and nothing even come's close to those two. I tested a spot
by finishing a rim with 200mph then hit a section with never dull and it dulled
the rim hit it again with 200mph and cleaned it back up.

BTW Extream will also remove light scratch's and will need a sealer
200mph will not remove scratch's but seal's like a wax with periodic touch-ups

 

My black CBR rims done with 200mph and my yellow (sold )929 frame and rim's done with Extream.

yeah you might have but i didnt find anything specifically for polished alum rims, which is why i asked.

 

just got done cleanin my rims roja r25's, on the inner rim wit no polish i used mothers mag and aluminum polish, (blue magic metal polish sucks),.

on the lip and spokes i used the 3 step meguiars wax, first paint cleaner, then clearcoat polish, and last gold class wax, they came out almost brand new, my rims were in really bad shape, grime and brake dust/rust.

 

The mothers or the nxt all metal polish do well. If it's uncoated polished aluminum you will have to polish pretty often to keep the shine. Work in small sections and buff off before it completely dries.

If the wheel is clearcoated--use regular wax or wheel was from tire rack.

Never dull is not good for polished surfaces, but it cleans and shines the hell out of some dark bronze ZX-R wheels.
