Default Dealer Sticker

Anyone have any ideas on how to remove the damn dealer sticker from the rear? I'm talking about the one that usually has the dealer's name on it. They put right above the 350z badge on the rear and its really annoying to look at. I've thought about heat, and slowly peeling it off but I'm worried about damaging the paint. I've also thought about "Goo Gone", but have the same concerns.

Thanks in advance.

Take it to the dealer and have them remove it!

I worked as a lot attendant a long time ago and customers would always request it be removed (the sales manager plastered those ugly things on every car on the lot)

They come off easily (usually) unless they have been baked on by the sun. You can use a heat gun (on low) or a hair dryer (on high) to warm it up and carefully!!! remove it with a e-xacto knife.

I would avoid goo gone especially if the sticker is on the plastic rear bumper as it may discolor it.

Just take your time and be carefull or have the dealer do it.

Go to dealer; if they give you hard time call US Nissan.

If the above is a hassle try a detailer near you.

Thumbs up In my case...

The dealer badge was actually a set of individual letters in silver (over my redline paint), ugh! Also, It read "Nissan / Hyunday" argh!!!

So, with a seat and lots of patience, I sat behind my car. Since it was the Florida afternoon, temperature in the 80s and sun shinning on my car, the letters/glue were soft.

Using my finger (no metal objects at all) I started each corner off and pulled it gently, letter by letter. If some glue residue stayed, i "rolled" it with my finger tip.

Letter by letter it all came off.

After, some finger prints and oil was left, wiped it off, no sign at all.

DO NOT WAIT too long. The longer you wait, the dryer the glue is, as it gets baked on. Also, the paint around the sign will weather and by the time you take it off you might have a shadow (darker paint).

Use a hair dryer to soften the adhesive but use either nylon fishing line or dental floss and work it under the sticker. DON'T use anything sharp. remove any excess adhesive with paint thinner, wash and wax.

Is paint thinner clearcoat safe? Using that sounds pretty dangerous.

I hadn't read anything in this section before tonight, but now that I have, man am I glad other people are pissed about that STUPID F$#*ING graffitti that the dealer puts on a car. My last two cars came with dealer license plate brackets (GONE!). But the Nissan dealership near me puts those stupid bright white dealer stickers on all the cars on the lot. What a bonehead move!!!

I can not believe that they have the ***** to de-face anyone's beautiful new car. Doesn't matter whether it is a $10,000 dollar Hyundai or a $100,000 Porsche, it is still a new car somebody was excited as hell to have.

Any dealers reading this should get a F*$#ing clue!

HAHA I love Cali. They don't put those damn things on the cars here. I see them though, driving through Texas.

Just don't leave it on or continue to work it. Get the goop off and wash immediately. If you want to try something a little safer you can use WD-40. Again wash and wax once the area is free of adhesive.

I specifically told my dealer not to even try to put stickers on my car. It was already on the lot, but it had just gotten there. I should be safe-... have yet to receive the car due to powdery cold white substance covering roads and everything else in existance
