Question Where do you wax.....

.....inside or outside, and what are the advantages and/or drawbacks to one or the other?

I was told to always wax in the shade so you have a cool surface. Helps prevent swirl marks and easier to apply the wax.

Usually in the garage with a 1000 watt work light so I can see my work better.

i wash it outside.. then wax it in my garage. Its not a good thing to wax in the sun. Also, waxing in the sun does not create swirls. Its caused by micro sized dirt being dragged across the surface when you wipe the surface of your car.

Clarifying my above response, I like to wax the car outside on a sunny day BUT the car is in the shade. I agree on not waxing in direct sunlight; not good.

I drive my Z in my backyard where the shade is at. Wax and washing your car in direct sunlight is a killer.
