Default 19" Rims Ok with Mister Carwash? No Scratches?

I have 19" Axis Hiros. Is it safe for me to take it to Mister Carwash, where they put it on their automated rail system that pushes the car through the wash? Would the rails scratch my wheels? Thx.

Why not wash the car yourself. I never go to carwash b/c you never know when some stupid **** will happen. Better safe than sorry. I trust myself more than anyone else.

REMEBER: They are not resposible for ANY damage to your vehicle due to their machines....there is a disclaimer like this at all car washes.

Touchless washes are harmless. (well except for the strong *** chem's they use..) but at least they wont scratch your rims!

If you have such things in houston.

Cheers,

just remember that absolutely NO ONE takes care of your car better than you do. No one will have the same amount of love and respect for the awesomeness that is a Z like you. And rightfully so. Not everyone can have a car like this.

that having been said, I'm not quite sure what type of rails they use, but there is a local car wash chain here called aquazoom that is the ONLY place in town i trust to wash my car. But, i also know all the staff and managers personally.

IMO, the best wash are those touchless coin-op do-it-yourself washes. i dont know if they have them where you are at, but around here they are pretty common.

basically you put in quarters and it gives you time. whats great about them is that they have hoag hair brushes that are 100 percent safe on your paint, and they have the pressure and flow that you need to wash your car safely. plus, the ones around here are open 24 hours a day, so you can go in at any time and get it done. great for when u wanna really take your time and do it right.

You should be more worried about the car itself rather than the wheels

Regardless of weather it is right or not to take your car to the autowash, I'd be worried about taking any car with tire profiles less than 55 or so. The lower the profile the more likely you're gonna scratch. Besides I wouldn't trust some 16 yr old kid trying to line me up on the tracks especially since they can't see under the front of our cars.

I took my car to a lube place with a pit that my buddy works at so we could take a look at some things and I had him laying on the ground so he could see my tires guiding me over the hole!

I've seen the Mister Carwash automated wash leave a Honda Accord alloy wheel looking like it was cleaned with 00 steel wool. On the plus side - Mister Carwash's Chevron gasoline is often several cents per gallon less than competitors. Get the gas, skip the automated wash...
