Default Cleaning StopTech BBK calipers

I've searched for this but no luck.

Does anyone know how I can clean the stoptech calipers(red).

I think I smeared some brake fluid on them with the rubber gloves when I was installing them and they are not very shiny right now.

Stoptech reccomends only soap and water but is there anything else I can try, like a wax or goofoff, etc?

Thanks!

You comitted a no-no. Never smear brake fluid on your stoptechs.. If you do, wipe it off immediately. Since the damage is done, have you tried washing off with soap and water yet? If you have and the residue hasn't come off, try using regular wax. It'll remove most of the damaged layer of paint. You'll see a red residue on your buffing rag. This is the layer of paint that has been damaged by the brake fluid. I know this because I have stoptechs also and some of the fluid dripped out of the bleeder valve when I was bedding the brakes. It left black stains on my calipers. I was able to wax off the majority of it. Good luck.

For routine cleaning, I use Griot's Speed Shine and a microfiber cloth. Looks great after 3 years

A photo is worth a thousand words.

If the paint is damaged, no amount of cleaning will bring it back.
