Default Pics - My first Zaino

My first Zaino day!

Washed with Dawn (plain blue) to get all the old wax off
Clay bar with distilled water and Z7
Washed with Z7
Applied two coats of Z5
Applied Z6
Applied third coat of Z5
Applied Z6 again

After working the Clay Bar on the roof a little bit I could feel it pulling stuff off. I looked at the bar and , it had this light brown jank on it. The bar has enough to keep squishing and folding to have a clean surface for quite a while.

Going to get the Z8 for next time. From the pics I saw, it adds even more shine. Cleaning my wheels tomorrow btw.

Is there anything that you would do differently in the future when going thru the steps?

after you use z8, you'll never use z6 again. you need to use z2, thats wax. the z5 is just polish and comes off easily

Had I looked through this forum, I would have gotten Z8 and used that instead of the Z6.

But the basic sequence is right out of the guide which is very thorough. The dealer here in LA (lazaino.com) was very helpful, answered my questions, etc.

Default Z2 or Z5

Thanks. I expect to get the Z8 for next application. The product guide says that Z2 and Z5 are the same but Z5 formulated for swirls, scratches so I went with that. Both described as polish and I don't see anything in the long instructions about Z2 being a wax...

Trust me . If you think the white stuff (Z5) is good, the pink stuff is like 20X more concentrated. It makes it SUPER duper slick, shiney, look like its under water and absolutely water replelent, dirt repelent. The Z8 actually repels pollen (if it matters to you). What I do is Z5, Z2, Z8. Once you get a few coats down, you can skip the Z2 every other time.

Ive used only the Z5 once (Not Z5, then Z2). I then got the Z2, and if i run out of Z5, i dont get worried. I get Z5 again when I run out of Z2, cause Z2 is the ONLY reason I like zaino (and Z8).

To short answer, use Z5, then Z2, then Z8. Best combo out there. I use Z6 as a spot cleaner/cleaner spray. It works well for random dirt spots like on the wheels. It works nice on glass too lol.

How does the z-5 perform when trying to hide light swirls and very small scratches.

Its very thin, you need a few coats. 2-5 coats are usually neccary but it works decently well. Its a filler not a cutter, so it own't be as good at getting rid of swirls.

I Googled "Zaino" and came up with lazaino.com which is the Los Angeles based distributor. Looks like Zaino only works through this network of small distributors who cannot sell online but will handle credit card over the phone.

Check out http://www.lazaino.com or you might be able to find someone closer. This guy is real helpful, responsive and thorough.

I was using something in a dark purple bottle from Meguires and after I was done with the Zaino application I threw the Meguires away. When I go to get in the car and touch the finish, its SO smooth. The claybar is extra work but not all that much.

I kinda like having a day open for this sort of thing. Nice weather, quiet, just going through the process is kinda like a meditation...

I actually put a small / light scratch in my hood by allowing the hose to come up and over (DOH!) and the Z5 hides it pretty well. I figure I'll have to get it buffed out or something if it bothers me later on.
