Default Help! Rainbow Effect on Polished Lip of Volk GT-C!

My girl took my car to the carwash in an attempt to do something nice for me, and now the lips of my Volks are stained with that rainbow color. If there's some rainbowing on the lips, are they just totally ruined or what? I don't have money to buy brand new rims because of this, so what can I do get that rainbow look out or at least minimize it? I live in OC. Are there any places nearby that can help me with this problem or is it better to look for a DIY solution?

Step one....dump your girlfriend
Step two....prepare to do some work or get new rims.
Step three...never take your car to the carwash.

As far as Pictures ----Im know what he is talking about as far as the rainbow effect, But I doubt it would show in a picture. It MAY be caused by minerals in the water, or phosphates, I think I would try some White Vinegar on it.

You may have to learn to love them and except their Gayness, they are, after all, your Volks.

Strip the annodizing and hand polish them with a metal polish. Its the only way to restore the finish. You'll have to periodically repolish them however as they will now to bare aluminum and subject to oxidation.
