I just bought used 350Z Superblack, track model.
There are so many rock chip in front bumper, is there any thing you recommended to get rid of those rock chips ?
Another question my rims is so dirty, I bought Mother MAG and Aluminum polish from Autozone but it does not work at all.
Here is my rims take a look at picture. Is there any degrease you would recommend ?

*Detailing Memory Erased!*
you've done a great write-up, and i'm a total noob that knows nothing about detailing..
i own a Magnetic Black Z, and i want to bring out its color and make it as shiny as yours.
our weather is a butt (a hairy one).. we don't have all 4 seasons, but only 2. Summer which takes about 8 -10 months, reaching about 50c degree, and Winter (which is Spring-like mostly) and takes about 2 months, reaching a minimum 12c degree..
i don't have a garage, and my car is exposed to all kind (being it humidity, sandstorm, rain, bird crap, bugs, you name it!).
most products are not available @ my location, so i'll be ordering stuff online and have them shipped here.
SuperBlack350z, i need your recommendations plzzzzz...
shampoo, polish, wax, MF towels, pads, etc.
and i'll make sure to get the porter cable.
thnx

These are my personal recommendations. Most of them are european brands but can be bought at a lot of detailing website including Detailed Image.
Also, i go with different type of polishes , glazes ans waxes, depending on color, brand of car, etc. But here is just a main idea of what i use on a black Z.
Car wash : P21S car wash (very gentle on wax, great cleaning capablities, PH balanced so it won't harm any rubber plastics and moldings. Kind of expensive but well worth it)
Medium Polish : Menzerna SIP super intensive polish.
Light polish : Menzerna P106ff
Glaze : Red Moose Hand glaze
Wax : Swissvax mystery wax, Migliore luxury wax ( can be bough on this site through Don), Poorboy's blue wax, P21s show car wax.
Wheel cleaner : I only use P21s wheel cleaner. A bit more expensive but again, it's PH balanced, works with all wheels. Most high end detailers use this stuff on $100k cars and up. it's a good product that will always be used by me.
tire shine: Blackfire tire shine, Migliore tire shine (can be bought here from Don)
leather cleaner and conditioner: Chemical guys leather cleaner and conditioner, leatherique for bad condition leather
glass cleaner: surf city glass cleaner, chemical guys glass cleaner
interior cleaner : Meguairs pro detail series degreaser diluted 10:1
interior dressing: 303 aerospace (protects VERY well, smells funny though)
Exterior rubber dressing protectant : migliore rubber protectant, 303 aerospace
Exterior rubber dressing: BLACK WOW
metal polish : p21s metal cleaner
buffing pads : Lake Country
Towels : this really depends, i usually buy from the pakshak.

great! thnx again for the input..
since there are alot of products in a single category, i just wanna make sure i'm buying the right product. (images by DetailedImage.com)
Car Wash: P21S Bodywork Conditioning Shampoo
Medium Polish: Menzerna Super Intensive Polish PO83
Light Polish: Menzerna PO106FA Nano Polish (Super Finish)
Glaze: Red Moose Hand glaze is not available @ detailedimage.com. so can i consider the Machine Glaze? or Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish (with Glaze fillers)?
Wax: Poorboy's Natty's Blue Paste Wax
Wax: P21S Pure Carnauba Wax?? or P21S Concours Carnauba Wax?
Pads: is there anything specific? i mean, is each type/color used for certain job? (other than used for the specific wax/polish color)
Towels: DI Waffle Weave Drying Towel.. are they any good for drying the car? and DI Super Gripper to remove polish/wax, is it any good?
-what about Plastic treatments (such as Headlights/taillights)?
-what about paint scratch remover?
-what about swirl remover?

as far as towels, go to autogeek.net and look up the Ultimitt wash mit. that works very well on black. i don't really get swirls using that mitt. You can get their waffle weave towel to dry as well.
Plastic such as headlights and tail lights, you can polish them with those same polishes you would use on the paint. You seal them in with a sealant (wax) afterwards.
For swirls and scratches, those polishes will fix them. That's what they do. They will correct imperfections in the clear coat. A lot of people think wax does this and will make their car shiny but it's all about the polishes.
thanks. i appreciate that. as long as even one person enjoys this and learns, it's well worth it.
