Talking Daytona Blue Detail

Thank you to Great @ Detailed Image for answering some of my questions here on my350z.com, fast shipping, and an excellent site that really aides in finding complementary products.

Previous to this detail, I had only used hand application of polishes and waxes. Then recently I decided to step up to a PC7424 and some non-OTC products.

I went with the following:
- Wash with Meguiar's NXT wash (2 bucket method)
- Clay with Meguiar's clay kit and Adams' QD
- Wash again...
- Menzerna IP with LC Orange Pad
- Menzerna FPII with LC White Pad
- Menzerna FTG with LC Black Pad
- Collinite 845IW applied with foam pad by hand 2x @ ~2 hours apart
- Natty's Blue applied with LC Blue Pad

Pre-detail shot:

Scratches on the rear bumper:

Blemish on the hood (from previous vehicle owner) which didn't come out:

Post-detail shots:

Rear bumper with blemishes largely removed:

Side close up:

Last shot. Don't mind the left over wax on the bottom of the door. :doh

I still have some learning to do with the PC and work on getting the blemishes out better...
Thanks for looking!

Definitely made getting most of the blemishes out easier. Without it I would have just worked on covering them up!

It just took some getting used to and reminding myself that I'm not sanding the paint off my Z!

I should thank you, too, since I became much more motivated after your how-to thread for detailing your Z.

thanks man. I appreciate that. I'm glad z owners are doing details themselves instead of paying someone to do it. A clean stock z will always look better than a modified dirty one.

+1 I think a lot of people were inspired by SuperBlack's how-to guide. Definitely the cleanest wheel wells this side of the Mississippi!
