1) Avoid driving in the rain, if at all possible (Duh)
2) Buy a California Car Duster and use it regularly.
3) Get a pack of Glosser wipes for touchups.
4) Regular washings (obviously).

Just a quick start.

Just a quick start.
Let me add to this list ...

5) Wax once a month w/ a good wax such as Zaino or Blackfire.
6) Regular washings = once or twice a week (do it yourself, don't go to one of those automatic ones).
7) Instead of glosser wipes, use detail spray in between washes.
8) Live in a house with a garage.
9) PRAY! It's really difficult to keep a black car clean but it's sure worth it! Good luck.

Got the California DUster...didnt know it had a wax on it and you had to use it 3-4 times before you get optimum use out of it. I've always thought about picking up Zaino for the Grand Prix GTP I had before the Z but never bought it...but now having a car that cost over 30G...Zaino is well worth it.

Thanks for the info...its just depressing seeing swirl marks and new scratches.

Don't live ANYWHERE that it rains.

Lots of washing, lots of Zaino.

Good luck, I've got a black car and basically I gave up on it years ago.

Just let your car get really dirty once. Then go out and wash it until it looks new again. You'll see an enormous difference and appreciate how good it looks clean.

That was enough motivation for me to keep my black car clean. There's nothing like a clean black car, especially at night...especially when it's a Z.

As Ares said! I second that..

Remember this quote..

"Black is the WORST color on the road if you do not keep it clean. Black is the BEST color on the road if it is clean"

For a black car, you can do much better than Zaino. Blackfire and Pinnacle Souveran are the BEST for black and other dark colors. I use Blackfire only because I can't get out every couple weeks to re-apply Souveran. Souveran is the BOMB, but Blackfire lasts longer.

You should apply a protectant that compliments you car color.

Ugh...just looking at my car last night while pumping gas at night....SUPER SWIRL MARKS BATMAN!!! Looks horrible...looks like a dry rag was run across the car..even the tail lights.

Is Blackfire a one step process? Cuz I'm not down with the million steps of Zaino.

agree with all the above-just remember black is by far the most mysterious "color" of all because it's not a color -art class refers it to a shade=)"the absence of all colour"

since it takes more effort to keep a black car clean especially our beloved 350z we should take pride because it's high maintanence!

*it's like a black hole in a good way...*
*at night it gleams with smooth curves and shapes making it irresistable to stop looking.*
Staring seems to hypnotize you because the street lights and anything "superblack350z" passes reflect it's beam of light or reflection against the "superblack 350z" conforming the z to become a black mirror reflecting rays of colors onto itself.

for that we are "superblack350z" not "dark/night/whatever else they can call it black350z" =)

"with great power(color) comes
great responsiblility(wash/wax/blow/clean/wipe/etc)

amen=)
