Default 303 Protectant question

just finished washing the car at 1:00pm. it's now 4:33 and the sun will be going down soon. The top is barely damp on the sides.

Question: If you apply 303 Aerospace protectant while a little damp, will that be enough to cause mildew?

With it so cold and having no garage, I don't know if it'll ever be fully dry. In the morning it'll be soaked with dew....

Are you referring to a fabric or vinyl top? I wasn't sure based on the fact it seems like drying it thoroughly is difficult, which makes me think it's fabric. I would suggest trying to make the top as dry as possible before applying protection. If the top is vinyl it's probably okay to apply the 303 Aerospace Protectant assuming it's relatively dry. If you have a fabric top you won't want to use the Aerospace Protectant at all. Fabric tops should be treated with the 303 Fabric Guard and those tops should be totally dry before it's applied. Please let me know if I can help you any further.

thanks for your help.
from my research, it appears the 350z ragtop is vinyl. Although it feels like canvas/fabric

i woudln't use 303 aerospace on the outside of the car. It will run off in the rain or any type of water that goes on it. It's more for interior use. Also, don't let your bottle get cold. This stuff smells HORRIBLE if you do. I sent in a couple of bottles back to 303 since it happened.

Haha, you are correct about letting it get cold. I used mine after having it outside in the garage during some freezing temps. I noticed that my car smelled like *** after wiping it down with this stuff. It went away after a few days, but I never knew exactly what caused it until now. I have a 16oz bottle outside and a gallon of the stuff in the basement (for refilling). I smelled both and the stuff that I had outside definitely didnt smell the same!

yup, smells exactly like some bad body odor. You don't know how many times i had to explain to people before they sat in my car the whole story. Doesn't even seem believable..lol. Try telling people that it's not you that smell but over frozen interior spray
